I think he's too concerned with his "aweful" singing career !! His family is very wealthy, seems like his drive is gone !!

Well, that wouldn't be the only "awful" thing happening in this thread.

Has he had a good start this year?

It sure seems like he has gone the route of "I'm pretty good at SX where the money is, screw training my ass off for MX".

Do "very wealthy" families own and operate small used car lots?

He looks like he has put on some poundage but he has large hair and runs a chest protector. Who knows? He is a great personality in our sport. Hope he just had a bad day on the job.

So, those of you saying he doesn't train, what exactly are you basing this off of? Or, are you just saying it for the sake of talking shit on a rider?

Blake has never been that fast. He had a couple flashes in 2009 and 2010, but he's never shown front-runner speed.

Maybe his family has managed their money very well, which I suspect is the case. They did have a pretty big house for sale.

I know several people who do quite well with note lots myself. Just trying to understand what some people consider a "very wealthy" family. Should be easy enough to put a number on. But a set of parents at or near retirement age might have their own idea of wealth. And as to why they had such a nice house for sale is anyone's guess.

People talk and comment without knowing anything about the trials and tribulations people have gone through. I hate to say that I've been guilty of this. Once I found out the truth I felt pretty bad.

He had some very impressive rides outdoors in the Honda. I remember at unadilla one year he finished second in a moto right on the heels of first place (canard iirc). After that ride where he was the fastest guy on the track hands down, I thought he would make a push towards being a champion, hasn't materialized that way yet.

Well, I have been told they had a contract with the school system, making school bus conversions. My son raced with the Whartons for 10+ years, from 60's through the A class. Blake is a couple years younger than my son, Tyler is the same age. I had heard that Tyler has som sort of illness that kept him from racing anymore, but don't know nothing factual on him.

I know their mother was a Model, before becoming a hair dresser and supposedly made some good money modeling as well.

Trust me when I say "Very Wealthy", they own a bunch of land in Texas and who knows what kind of property / rentals they have too. They rolled pretty big, when they would come out to California for months at a time, they had a huge trailer and had a mechanic who travelled with them to maintain the 20 bikes they travelled with.

Maybe that clears up the question of "Very Wealthy". I'd guess they are worth several million, if not more. Nice way to live !!

Sounds to me like they've earned every bit of it. So what's the problem?

I like Blake...always have, even though he definately is a bit eccentric and dances to a different beat than most. I have been wondering what happened to him this year as well. He's been in the 250 class for what seems like forever, and had plenty of fire in the SX season earlier this year. I don't know if it's training...too many diversions/distractions...or that the class is just so freaking stacked with rocket-fast talent that he's flat just outclassed. Something is wrong, because he's not even on the same grid as the top ten guys he's supposed to be racing with.

I've rode with Blake and Tyler in Texas back when they were on KTM's. They would show up to the track with their dad and a 3/4 ton diesel Ford or Dodge. Anyway, never saw all that $$ shit.
They had a nice property in Pilot Point, TX that is in the heart of horse country here, and most of those people had alot of money, which brought up the value of property they had for a long time.
Their property bordered the family who's dad ran Extreme Team Green for years, then moved to run a Suzuki team for awhile. The son raced but never won in the pros. Can't think of his name right now.

Maybe he wants to win a 250 and 450 championship. SX and MX.
