I felt the same way yesterday that I did at Daytona two years ago. I am not a die hard Jame's fan, but I admire him and you can't deny he puts it out there. The first moto, just like Daytona, he has it in the sack and then boom, done.

At Daytona, he was clearly faster than anyone, including vilo. I was in the stands when he ate shit about 50 feet in front of me and all I could think of was "why?"

Yesterday he was cranking along and Short wasn't even close to pressuring him.

I thought James had that moto in the bag....I was so bummed when he crashed. I wish he could win one

hope this kid isn't hitting his head to much. sure does look dazed after his crashes. makes a person wonder is it really worth it.

He was pretty close to saving that crash today. That was actually pretty amazing to see how quick he adjusted in mid-air from the second view. I wonder how many other riders in the field would have just bailed in that situation? Really though...

I'm not trying to get in the kids business or nothin, but it just seems like he's maybe buying time after the spills to catch a breath or somethin lol, It's just hard to tell if hes ever winded or not cause his body positioning/technique is always spot on.

Either way the kid is still doing his thing, and it seems like hes having just as much fun as ever so more power to the kid.

I love bubba. but it really seems he has a hard time with bike set up.the first lap after he got the holy, his bike looked like a pogo stick. now watch villos or dungeys bike, their front forks absorb more and have way less kick back

Who knows but my 06 rmz would swap on me alot.i spent alot trying to get straight line stability and never got it where I felt safe on it.my wrecks on it where in desert I should mention, but it scared me out of ever getting a zook again.im sure there are big changes in the bike since 06 but to me it looks like James bike is jumpin up and biting him like mine would.at thunder valley they showed he is running a stabilizer cause the head shake is so bad

the guy is tough as nails. he has enough money to call it quits if his heart wasn't in it. He hits the ground almost every week and gets up every time and as of recently, finishes his motos despite how gnarly the wrecks are.

In my mind he's earned respect and paid his dues and anyone that discredits him can suck a d*ck
I agree with this statement

Bonked his head on that hay-bale pretty good.

Maybe had something to do with him appearing "drunk" on his first attempt to remount?

He should have stayed on the Yamaha so we could still blame the bike. It's sad to me. I was like oh man he's gonna win the Moto and my world was gonna be right again. Then boom back to the new reality lol

Looked like he cross rutted, simple as that. Sure he look dazed when he sat up, but it seemed like a "You gotta be kidding me" gesture.

You sure about him "having enough money to call it quits if his heart wasn't in it." A Lot of athletes have made more than him, and ended up broke. Not saying that is the case with JS, but who knows?
I think it was Matthes who asked him when he left JGR why he would leave JGR when he was making much more than he will at Suzuki, and he said he has more money than he will ever need.

James got the most cheers yesterday besides Dowd. Even my gf, at her first race ever, commented how much people liked him.

I've been an on-again, off-again fan of James over the years. I'm on again. I feel bad for the kid.

It's not the brand of bikes it's just that he's on another level from every other rider out there. Too bad he didn't come along 20 years from now when bikes will be good enough for him.

Tip of the hat to JS7 yesterday, I knew he was tough but damn that was a rough as hell crash. I've swapped and crashed like that before (just not going nearly as fast as he was), and I was sore for 3 months (granted I'm a lot older than James LOL). Regardless, props and much respect to him for everything he did yesterday (and this season for that matter). He's great for the sport and I hope he can hang on for a few more good years.

Worked fine for Reed & Dungey outdoors... I personally think its his riding style, maybe he should listen to Gary Bailey after all

That is the dumbest fan comment I've heard yet about a rider. I think the equipment is pretty good these days. Its actually alot better than it was years ago when he was winning everything, so maybe now the bikes are to fast and powerful for him. And your right, a lot of guys aren't on his level, their a lot better. I don't see him beating the Ryan's and a lot of other guys on most days. James was a freak of nature on a bike and still shows flashes of brilliance, but I think his career is on its decline and his confidence isnt where it was. It's just a nature progression of an athlete once they've peaked in their career and that thing called age starts to add up.

What do you mean, look back in the archives. There are plenty of fanboys who have said essentially the same thing.

And they were serious.

I think it is.

Once, either here or at TT, there was a thread that went in the line of thinking that "James is so fast, and his skills are so great, that they can't make a bike capable of going his speed"! At least that's what I remember.

I just pray he makes it out of the sport reasonably healthy. I do not like seeing him like that every weekend.

"asinine asshole" I like it, has a redundant redundancy to it. Bravo.
