I hope they can work something out because that track is a lot of fun to ride and spectate at. I know that the constant threat of residential development has been an issue in the past but they managed to survive. It will be a sad, sad day for moto if Southwick goes away.

Maybe just haul some sand out in a flat section of high desert and hold a race there, as long as they got good facilities it could be a go. Dry

That's a shame, series needs a badass sand track.
This!

Though Southwick doesn't seem anywhere near as sandy as it was...

If they completely remove sand tracks, as bad as last years MXDN was, imagine how bad it'd be in the future...Shit

Bring back the sandy oaks national in keithsburg IL! They used to have a national out there and Bob hannah hated it because it is so gnarly.

Always great to see the local talent take on the factory guys at the wick. Hope it doesn't go away.

Dowd, Henry, Keller, Ellis. Sure I am missing some other national riders who came from New England.

As much as it would pain me to see this as a Connecticut native, I would understand it.

Small crowd
Houses REALLY close
In the backyard of a highschool
Not a whole weekend event like other races (no one camping in RVs)
etc
etc

See, guyb....I told ya so.

Do you guys remember how team USA recently performed in sand? I do and it's not a good memory.

If I had any say at all Southwick would be replaced by a track with deeper sand.

Gotta admit, I saw the title and thought these drums would be beating to the tune of a Herlings rumor. Talk about a let down.

Baja would make a killer addition to the series. Has the true sand up top, rougher than snot and the great dirt down low.

and it gets rough.

Wait until the southies get davie in the woods maybe they will bury him next to Hoffa , and if New England loses a national that would be a travesty . Nesc has to be one off the strongest mx districts in the usa . what's next replace unadilla with a national at a NASCAR track.

The reason I say Baja, it's sandy, gets rough, airports are close and nice hotels.

Given the attitude towards OHV use in places like MA and here in MD, frankly I'm surprised that our nationals have lasted this long.
