would look intimidated by another racer(RV)! He fought Dungey hard as hell for position, but damn near just waved RV by, especially in the 1st moto!
James looked really slow in the corners, almost like he was afraid to put his leg out! Anyway, I hope the old dog has some fight left in him to give the Ryans a challenge this year!

On another note, everyone should sneak a peek and see what tires RV is running, because that Kawi was stuck to the track everywhere!

I'm not saying he's lost it by any means , but you don't hold on to js type speed forever. Sooner or later Father Time gets us all.

I just hope he stays healthy this year. It's only the first race... I think it's a good thing he's riding at 95% instead of 105%.

No. The difference is RD follows a rider WAY to long, always has. RV don't mess around

I never thought I would see the day he would settle for two 3rd place finishes, and not crash riding over his head trying to do better.

Huh?

Let's see? EVERYONE comments that James "throws it away", "can't finish a season", "never races smart" & "can't keep it together".

Well, He Kept it Together. He Rode SMART. He probably DOESN'T want to mess up his knee...anymore than it ALREADY IS!

This guy just can't make some of you happy. ever. Oh, well...

Me? Class Friggin' Act in the "Starting-Line" interview with his Brother.
Rode "Wise" and he's 10 points outta 1st...4 points outta 2nd.
He needs to find 3-4 seconds in his Fastest/Average Lap-Times.
Guessing that his Hangtown strategy might have been "Survival" versus "Banzai".

Other than that? I think Mookie "owes" me a Top 5!

I'm jus' believin'...

Hi expectations for Team Stewart.

Where is this video of him and Mookie on the starting line? I missed it, but have heard several people mention it.

I can't recall a single rider who never received criticism during his career. This constant criticism isn't something out of the ordinary.

James Stewart or not, nothing wrong with 3rd overall. His focus is consistent and finish the series which I would be pumped to see. Stop looking for a reason to bag on one of the best.

I don't see James losing anything. If anything he's racing smarter than ever. He's got nothing to prove or lose, his list of race wins and championships speak for themselves.

Villopoto is the fastest man on the track right now, but everybody has seen that he can throw it away in an instant riding at the intensity that he does. He's proved that plenty of times. Maybe Stewart has that in the back of his mind.

Stewart knows that he has a tendency to be win-or-crash, and he seems to be taking the time to sort things out and (as he puts it} "be there" for every round, rather than get into a Round-1 pissing contest with Poto, only to fall again and really jack himself up before the season even gets started. He'll beat Poto more than once this season...

I thought they were two great rides by James. He is still nursing a bum knee, and he is DEAD ON when he says that there will be a lot that happens this season and you put yourself in a great position to win the title if you are on the box every week. Id rather see this than James feeling like he just has to win every moto and crashes out trying too hard. He will get some wins, and he has as good of a chance as anyone to be there at the end. DNF's happen and crashes happen. Who knows how this all turns out? That or RV just ruins everyone and runs the table. Laughing

James still has the speed to win races against the best riders right now. We will see it soon. James is just an older and wiser rider now but he will show his speed.

James rode great to a couple 3rd place finishes. i am very surprised at the ease RV had in passing Stewart and RD though... once he passed them he was fuckin' gone. very impressive.

going to be a sweet season

X2. The guy went head to head with RC. You think the Ryan's are bringing some otherworldly speed to the table that he's never seen? He's got a bum knee and knows he's not gonna win the title the first race. It was rather shocking to hear him say he was happy with 3rd the first moto and he would be happy with another 3rd the next moto. i just wish he would have got the knee fixed before mx. As good as he's riding, the knee has to be holding him back. Anyone who's rode with a torn ACL knows it's always in your head when is that next dab of your foot gonna make it pop.

Perfect. I also hope Reed can step it up as well and get up in the mix where he belongs. He should be fighting for podiums along with JS, RD, RV, TC, JB.

I would have to say that the pace is more than likely greater than it was back when RC was racing. Infact, I would be say no question its faster now.

Chad's ALWAYS got a surprise for us when we start to "wonder".

I heard a rumor that he might be debuting some New PC Goods, too.

i call bull on that , RC would still be winning now even against poto , dont think he would dominate like he did ,feild is deeper but dont think its any faster , but still think outdoors RC would handle everyone , hell id say if he trained for a few wks he d top 5 easy ,

RV has won a couple titles riding with a torn acl.

Congrats to RV. Going 1-1 in the opening round is how you start a championship run. Stewart, Dungey , Canard and Barcia are not going to just lay down and give RV the crown. I also don't expect Alessi on his non-factory bike to settle with finishes outside the top 5.

Something happens to a racer the older he gets. He has the ability to ride using more of his head than his heart. If this is what is happening to JS and he still has any of his speed left he will be a hard guy to beat.

Hmm? I had a different outlook on it. To me.....he rode impressive. He fought hard both moto's and instead of pushing past his limits and hitting the ground....he settled for 3rd. If he stays smart all season , he'll pick and choose his shots....and go for it when he feels good enough to do so. "This Stewart" will be here all season and there will be some moto and possibly some O/A wins coming hi9s way. Again....I was impressed with the way he rode.

It was only 1 year ago he cleaned up the first 4 moto's of the year and looked set to dominant the outdoors. He's had a rough year so far and he just wants to get into the series, but I fully believe he has the necessary speed to win many races this year and the title.

He should go have his knee fixed right now. That would give him plenty of time to heal up and let his wrist recuperate. They can let Weston ride his bike lol. He honestly needs to get healthy before its too late. JS7 fan btw
