Yeehaw!! You know when they were building that track they had no concern for how close it was the road.. No chance in hell a rider or bike would ever end up in the road right? This guy deserves a major award for that one!

You didn't even need sound, just the tilt of the GoPro and you knew he was going off that berm.

Everyone's first whiskey throttle is an experience that must be had, but this guy just took it to a whole different level.

Hope he's alright.

I got whiskey throttle on a CR500 one time. Was getting alittle aggressive and over confident and landed off a jump and got shot back, grabbing a handful of throttle. Turned a 20' small tabletop into single 60' to flat.

When somebody beats Henry's it will be a sad day, because there is no happy ending to that.

A buddy has a CR500, ex local pro 6'4" big guy, I've ridden it but it takes all 160lbs of me to even keep it straight at slow speeds. One day he landed a double a little short, legs off the back and it went wide open off a small 20' table that led into the corner. He cleared the table and complete corner like that. I've never seen him shaken up about anything. Needless to say its for sale.

I think he must have hit "eject" when he saw he was going to land in the road. Smart move...

I ride Budds Creek regularly, racing it this weekend. And I can tell you that every single lap I go
around that track, when I come over the back of that hill, that crash plays in my head.

I know I'm not the only one.

Yeah, hope the guy in this thread's vid is ok.

Whisky-throttled my 500AF on a damn sighting lap of all things. Broke my tailbone. Still love the bike....just try to be very careful with that thing.

Anyone know how Doug Henry's doing? Has he had much success with rehab for his back injury/paralysis? Haven't heard about him in a while.

Yikes! Good thing he let go

Nothing more scary than wiskey throttle....weve all been there
3/18/2013 3:32pm
That's scary! Hope he's alright. Looked like he landed on his shoulder ala Dean Wilson, only going much much faster.
3/18/2013 3:53pm
Shoulda gave 'er a little more throttle held on and used the ditch on the other side as a landing.

But seriously that was NUTS!

that could have been seriously bad for a driver coming down that road too.

That video is something else... got some good airBlink

I had an exciting one last year... being exhausted 6 laps in i could barely hang on or even pull in the clutch, was trying to chase down a very fast rider, so went up a small table (that I've done thousands of times before) got slid back on take off.. hung on trying to bring it under control... finger slipped off the clutch... went over 2 more tables.. legs flailing of the back, corner coming up.. went over the berm in 3rd... went over the bars and landed on my head... severe concussion.

I was told it was quite a spectacular double whiskey, almost saved it.. shame nobody had go pro.

Could have been much worse.. since i don't wear a neck brace.

That 2 smoke got me a few times in the past too.

on another not, His throttle cable could have broke, wide open going into that turn.

I hope hes alright though. definitely a good idea to bail in that moment.
