Look at the muffler on that beast! Man, 4 strokes have come a long way in such a short time!

Maybe he and Tomac would be even better of with their 250Fs. This cc rules over anything argument, was a bit fueled by Shorts and Alessi's lack of success with the 350, but the following years has obviously shown "evidence" it doesn't matter what you bring, as long as the rider feels comfy with his machinery.

Can't wait to see Ken Roczen racing in the 450 class at Daytona, but why in the heck would he and KTM choose to race a 350 on a Supercross Track like Daytona, where it seems more Horsepower would be a huge advantage. I know he's a Rookie in the SX class, but he seems like he'd be more than able to handle a 450. Just curious if they've done some testing and found that his Laps are faster aboard the 350. Should be interesting to see
In stock form, the 2013 ktm 350 makes more horsepower than a few 450's...

The lap times should be relatively similar in the main event with all the ruts etc, but it should be a disadvantage at the start, which should bring a top 10.

I actually think he has an atvantage with the 350. Its come a long way since alessi/ short raced them. Daytona is more of an outdoor style track, ithink the 450 obviously has an advantage on the start, but less weght, less engine breaking, factorty motor are all an advantage

350 is a HUGE disadvantage. They couldn't even get out of 1st gear at lommel. Whistling

He holeshotted Daytona in 2011 on the 350.
Nah, was mid pack start in the main. In the heat, he came out 3rd. Was pressuring Millsaps for the lead at one point but he dropped off after Stewart went past

After Tomac's 450 results, if Roczen came, beat him and placed well overall in his first 450 race of the year, wouldn't do much good for Tomac's mojo eh.

Wonder where he is at mentally after these 450 results and recent losses to Roczen? Or am I reading into it too much? haha..

100cc disadvantage?

I believe these guys will disagree

He will do fine. There is nothing wrong with the 350 if the rider is coming off a 250F or is not a long time 450 rider. The only reason Alessi and Shorty didnt like the 350 is they had been on 450s too long. You take any top 250F racer, put them on the 350 and over the length of a SX main they would most likely go faster on it than a 450.

Roczen looked pretty good on that 350, I guess that's why Roger Decoster is the KTM Team Manager and not MeSmile

Perhaps if Tomac needs a confidence boost he should watch some vids from last years Nationals, when he was routinely gapping Roczen by 30sec

And you failed to mention that his teammate finished on the podium riding the 450 while we all watched KR go from a great start to getting passed by the same riders on several occassions.

can we put the 350 crap to rest already. Great, there are 3 riders now in the world that can ride em fast...That leaves 99.99% of the rest of us chumps only wishing we had their speed. I'll keep my 450 thank you.

considering #94 has not raced in a month and led his heat race for 4 laps, he did great.
There were 13 450 bikes behind him.

I think it was more physical conditioning than anything else that cost Ken tonight. He seemed to be ragdolling a bit towards the end there. If you look at the laptimes the 350 is more than capable of running at the same speed as the 450s.
