How do you guys think Alessi feels about Reed joining team? Alessi seemed to be the top dog but now you got Reed in the mix. Kind of a weird decision that Reed is going to Makita Suzuki but exciting nonetheless. Next year is going to be great with Reed on new team and Bubba on new team but I still wonder how Alessi is feeling about the whole thing.

Does it matter? Suzuki is doing what is best for the team. If Alessi wants to continue being the top dog then he should get faster.

That's what I said to my Mom, she was saying that Mike might be a little bummed.

It should be good for MA to have someone to learn from in SX and good for CR to have someone to learn from in MX.

Agree. The press release on Reed said SX & selected other events. I wonder what those other events are? Outdoor, X games, MXDN?

Nope, I disagree...Reed, could never hang with Alessi, outdoors.

The same goes for Mike, indoors...Reed, is the SX superior of the two, and will be a force, but I think Suzuki's plan is pretty clear. A Title indoors, and a Title outdoors.

ya that sounds like a great plan but i dont see it happening

Even the new and improved Alessi couldn't match Reed's pace outdoors. Especially if Reed dedicated himself to outdoors.

Reed is the clear cut winner indoors, but I think he'd give Mike a run outdoors too. In the end, I think he still beats Mike at both. Not dogging Alessi, mind you, I'm a fan. I hope he can pick up where he left off. Chad comes out of nowhere, runs the odd Outdoor Nat, and still gaps everyone but RC and Stew...

I guess it's a moot point (not mute) though, since Reed will maybe make a couple guest appearances if we're lucky, and that's about it.

Reed only running SX, so Alessi will still be the top Yellow guy in 09 outdoors. And the top non-pussy on the team.

Alessi seems to be a student of the sport who goes to great lengths to leaern and get better. I think he will only benefit from having Reed in his corner.

Dungey can ride with who he wants. a lot of riders ride with guys from different teams. When there isnt a test going on a lot of the guys go ride on another teams SX track with someone on the team.

One more thing, I dontthink Mike cares who is on the team.

Tony may be the one who is not happy that Mike is not top dog at Suzuki.

If Langston was racing I don't think Alessi would not have quite so many second place finishes this year. The talent pool thinned out and he made his way up to second fastest in the nationals.

Everyone seems to think Alessi made a great leap forward this year because he led Stewart for few laps at some races. Stewart did not panic when Mikey holeshot because he knew that he had him covered on speed and would still be in front when it counted.

When RV gets into 450 MX next year Mike may take a step down on the pecking order. RV has learned how to win and dominate at the pro-level, something Mike has not been able to do.

Reed is not a pussy, he just rubs people the wrong way so they like to call him names.

Stewart isn't in the lites class. If he was it would be the same thing for RV. 2nd.

Hahaha ya Reed is way too much of a technition! He need to learn how to hold it pinned for ten seconds. Maybe hes afraid of the big breaking bumbs, or the deep ruts.

I am not saying that RV will be better than Stewart IF Stewart runs the nationals next year, but that the mental aspect of winning 3 straight national championships will give RV the edge over Alessi (4 yrs pro, zero titles) in the big bike class.

This is also just bench racing theory which has yet to be tested and proven. Cool

A few years ago, Reed and Alessi in the same semi would have created an ego critical mass explosion. Now, I think it'll be OK. And if Reed rides outdoors, I think he'll win the championship - as much as I dislike the arrogant bastard, he's fast.

Well in my opinion sx only contracts are for pussies.

I'd compare it to an NFL quarterback who has a contract to only play in the games that take place in a dome.

What a dumbass thing to say. Just shut the fuck up. Reed stayed closer to JS and RC than anyone running the Nationals this year ever thought about. Including Alessi. Had Reed ran the Nationals last year he would have walked away with the title as easy as Stewart has this year. NO, I am not a Reed lover, but I do call bull shit when I see it. Credit is due to a rider where it is due.

Well more fans and money seem to be involved with the "WWE" and he goes back to Australia so I think that is a decent enough reason to not ride the lesser of the two American series'.

Wrong, MMA is the fastest growing sport in america. PPV's for MMA are off the charts.

If MX was televised and produced better like sx is people would be able to see how much better it is than SX.
