If your head was in the guillotine, at the emperors demand.....and you had to pick one rider to race one race, one 45 minute moto, at a outdoor track like unidilla or carlsbad, glen helen, etc, and he could be in his prime, who do u pick? He'd be racing against the other greats in their prime in the 250 or open class. Your head gets lopped off if youre wrong. Carmichael is the shiznit, but Im taking RJ to my grave. Indoor might be a different pick. But Ill take a prime rick johnson

I choose... Joel Robert !
He was the fastest, out of shape, winner, to ever carry a cocktail to the riders meeting !
Pit Row
I was even on the starting line next to him (1978) once. I got the holeshot...he came by screaming for me to "get the fuck out of the way"
So did all the other "real Pros"...I went from first, to last, quickly. I only made one mistake, and that was on the entry form where it said: What class ?!
The GOAT everytime... I like my life.
RC
Decoster
Magoo
A motivated Hannah would be tough to beat.
If it was 500's on a rough track my life would probably be in David Baileys hands.
Bradshaw, only if I had a suicide wish. Dude was awesome (like at atlanta SX, last to first) but geez, he only had to get seventh at LA for the title.
That brings to mind the cold "eat shit and die" stare of Stanton when he was on a mission.
How about lechien if he was proving a point? Never mind. He might oversleep.
If it Was Howerton and he had to beat a returning Hannah as part of the deal, then maybe the Rhinestone cowboy would be a reasonable choice.
45 minute motos add a twist. I would want somebody that would run harder at the end. Heiki Mikkola (sp?), the fierce finn, always impressed me there.
If it happened to be a scenario like the USGP at carlsbad, odds favor Wolsink.
There are so many choices and one would like to give all of them the consideration they deserve, but when compared with RC's consistent performance and the cost of losing, I have to say "Um, Good luck RC"
