Isn't he a big outspoken anti-Leatt guy though?

No?
Leatt = neck

T3 and T4 are around 1/3 of the way down the shoulder blades.

It will be interesting to see how many people continue to spew off idiotic remarks about neck braces in this thread when it is clear his injuries are nowhere near his neck.

Get well Ryno!

checking out his twitter profile really hurt

there's a 5 hour gap between posts

one he's all ramped with butterflies about getting back on a bike

and the next one is the news of the massive crash.

he's finished with motorcycles now as per his twitter.

hope he heals up well and gets back to doing revolutionary style training.

Have a little class and at least wait for the 4th page to post negative things no one wants to read.

glad he has movement !!

Back stuff is scary as shit, I had a compression fracture in my L5 from riding.

Anyhoo anybody have any info on how he went down? Sorry if its bad timing but im kind of curious.

This is from Ryan's Twitter. Rmember its a timeline, so you need to start at the bottom for his oldest post for this to make sense. It seems as though it was very seious and lost feeling twice, but surgery was a sucess. Sad to hear him say he's hanging it up. And not to start controversy at all and I know it was a high back injury, but would a brace have helped? All the braces available support this part of the back as well. GWS Ryno.

btw: T3 through T5 is a very popular area, im T4-5, DB same area, and a good dozen or more names i could list.

Want to hear a scary one? my best bro Craiger (BIGRIGGIN here) who was w/ me when i got hurt, ended up also breaking his back prob 200yards or so from where i crashed. luckily he had a full recovery, ill never forget the day i got the news he went down....scared the living shit out of me. He and i have been through so much...hard to even put into words, and i love that dude w/ all my heart!

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Rhyno

Since he's an all-natural type guy, does that mean he turns down morphine? A kid at the local tracks used to be so afraid of needles that he said no to any drugs when be broke both of his wrists.

Can't keep a guy like Ryno down. Tough as nails. He is fortunate that he is such a training machine. Probably saved his ass on this one. Get well soon Ryno!

Ryno is obviously slowing down. The young Ryno would have duct taped his spine and kept on riding.

I think Ryno said the same thing about quitting riding when he went over the bars on his 450 at Steel City in '01. And then he fought Langston and Stewart for the 125 title in '03, to the point of racing Southwick with a broken leg - and getting points! Whether he races again or not, he's a legend. Yes, a somewhat warped legend, a somewhat flawed legend, a slightly eccentric and hairtriggered emo-explosion legend, but a legend nevertheless. Get well soon, Ryno, and I've got $20 that says you're back on the Glen Helen starting line at the Vet nationals in '015.

The injury is below where a Leatt would offer protection. Find the lump high in your back even with your shoulders. That's C6. His injury is 3-4 vertebrae below that.
