I can tell you that some of the staff at the stadium has short fuses. In a little interaction with a member of the security team in the parking lot early Saturday morning, I had one guy tell Bayo and I to F off. He also mentioned that he'd been working there for 23 years. Hopefully he hasn't been that grumpy for that long.

There were a few more issues with the security gaurds right after Daveys wife there was another wife, a rider, a kid and a few others that i witnessed having issues with the want a be cops.

I pulled off the freeway at the Oakland coliseum exit just before the race. I decided to get some gas (was really low) so I could jam out of there when it was over and avoid traffic. I drove my old Toyota truck because I knew I was headed up there and would have to leave it in a parking lot for several hours. As soon as I get out of the car at the gas station I’m hit up for money. And, she won’t go away. She stands 5 feet from me as I pump gas. Looking at me like I need to give her money. I’m thinking “hey – hit someone else up”… But didn’t say it as I didn’t want to get shot. I don’t want to be an ass but, jeez… easy lady. THEN, as I’m pumping gas and she’s next to me another guy comes up holding a gas can doing that “Hey, just need a couple of bucks I ran out of gas” routine. I looked at him and said “It’s not going to happen”. He yelled “Fuxx”. Then he kept walking.

This is all before I got to the race. Get that race relocated back to San Francisco where it’s not so nasty!

Saw the usual suspects all day...but had a great time there, and we left as soon as RV took the third turn.
So we leave...As we appoach our vehicle, we see 4 Oakland security persons hanging around a truck next to ours, a large volumn of blood on the ground, and a guy who is unconscious, and bleeding out. It was bad.
Don't know if he made it our not, but not very pumped on the kids seeing that.
I won't bring the family back to the dirty O without my 45.

Feld needs to move the event ANYWHERE but Oakland.

I worked as a manager for Hungry Hunter down the street from the Coliseum. Way back, my first night at that location the chef took me out back and said when you leave here tonight, make a left, to get on the 880 So. Do not go right as you will end up in the kill zone. I carried a .44 Super Black Hawk back then and I had no problems going right. I used to have to go through the dining room and have the young guys turn off their pagers. These guys were all young dealers, lots of money, nice rides etc. We had to guarantee the wait staff 15% gratuity as they seemed to feel they need not tip??? Oakland Coliseum area is a DUMP!

We left about 5pm to head back to the hotel, get dinner, layer up the clothes, and headed back to the Coliseum at 7pm. The ticket taker told us our 're-entry passes' had to be returned by 6pm, and that we couldn't get into the stadium..., 'cause we were too late'. She said she had turn 20+ people away, already. I tried to explain to her that 6pm was the latest to get a pass when leaving the stadium and not the time we had to come back in the stadium by. She said that she was going by what a supervisor told her.

We walked 50' to the next ticketing gate, and the guy takes our passes like it's no big deal and we're in the stadium. I pass by the first lady to tell her the other ticket taker said she was wrong, and she started calling for security as well walked to our seats.

Fun times at Oakland, as usual.

Oh, and Eddie Money was practicing his golf swing in front of our hotel as we left Sunday morning... he was looking a little worn.

I wish they'd bring it back to Denver. The new Mile High stadium is awesome, we have a great town, plenty of riders that we could attract, and our downtown is very nice for families.

I flagged the last time, heck the only time, they had a SX there. It was in the old stadium. The turnout, for a city the size of Denver, was nothing short of pathetic. It was a poor track layout because the Broncos wouldn't allow any dirt on the playing field but the fans didn't know that, they just didn't show up.

David Clabaugh does a fine job with the MX at Thunder Valley so its possible times have changed.

Hey - I actually saw the smoke from this. We were out in the parking lot just to the right of this video having something to eat and having a cold one. Saw all the smoke but couldn't figure out what it was from. Couldn't hear anything either with all the loud music and crazies partying.
