Oh well, something else has to hit the track, and not necessarily the exact same supercross tracks, there can be a smoother track around the outside for quads or side by sides. This will hopefully bring new sponsors and more commitment from the existing OEM's.
I remember reading an article a long time ago, "does RC sell bikes"? The answer was no, bike sales when down every year he rode Kawasaki's I believe. Obviously the market has a say, but how many people out of 35,000 at a SX race are going to run out Monday I lay down $10,000 on a motocross bike that was as good as a factory machine 10 years ago? Most people in the arena can't even ride one, hence Dumbest Thing on Two Wheels (or whatever the show's name is), and all the YouTube escapades with people in flipflops running into garages or putting a second crack in their butt.
The existing formula obviously has flaws, when a really good rider with McG's connections can't substain a team..it shows a flawed business model.
I think ATV's are going to be part of the Canadian series. They rip up the track, and are kinda weird to a dirtbiker, but they can be riden by anyone with a thumb and a foot.....even drunk people unfortunately.
Give your snide remarks all you want, but I hope someone besides us internet monkies is looking for solutions that pertain to the masses. Monster, Rockstar and Muscle Milk must feel more powerful than the OEM's. If they leave, c'est tout.

as for the smooth track around the outside, who needs it? ATVs race Montreal SX and have surprisingly competitive lap times. i believe it was 2010 John Natalie's lap time was faster than all but 4 of the bikes. Albeit the Montreal tracks are very different from what you see at AMA, but after riding Montreal and seeing AMA SX live i would say that the Montreal tracks are sketchier for ATVs than the AMA tracks.
It will probably never happen but it would be cool to see. The ATVs at Montreal get just as many cheers as the bikes. Plus quads have this great habit when they lose their rider, they often decide do follow and run him over. i bit painful and uncomfortable for the rider, comedic gold for the fans.
Maybe... blockpass/centerpunch/jump crossover...with a sponser memorisation test afterwards.

The stadiums might not be filled but I doubt having quads will fill the empty seats.
Plus the race schedule is already set, they had to do away with some of the racing to make it TV friendly.
No time for Quads anyway.
Felds M.O. is to get you in to watch a few races and get you out in a few hours.
I am not sure many MX fans care about or want to see Quads race anyway.
people aren't interested in motocross anymore. PLAIN and SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know that doesn't compute for most of you narcissistic retards, but all you have to do is look at bikes sales from the last 35 years. it tells the whole story. in black and white.
Mx was never the most accessible sport to begin with but when it gets harder and more expensive to ride the love for the sport starts to die

We're not that much faster either. I know you think you are, but you're not. There's probably more of us on the sidelines with injuries, though.
I don't think many are in agreement with me, and we will likely never get back to basics. I think the day could come though, and soon, with interests waning and grass-roots unfortified, that we could see a really, good shake-up. We'd all be better for it.
Afuckingmazing....
