There is one home made coming along here in Finland. It will be a CR500 engine in a -09 450 CRF frame with EFI and roller throttle body.

I couldn´t paste the pictures but here´s his project gallery:

LINK

He has made the CAD-drawings himself and had the parts (head stay, y-tube, mounts etc.) milled in a local CNC-machine shop.

Yo scooter I found the pics from Vet Fest for that KX500F conversion that broke. They were on my camera, I will load them tonight. They aren't the greatest but shows the bike laying there with the cradle broke and front end barely on laying on the ground with the owner in disgust looking at it.
Love to see 'em.

For those of you still following along, I dont even think its AJ replying here, not directly anyways. If you ever got a email or saw a post directly from AJ, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. AJ, when its really AJ, has his own personal "style" as they say.

That said AJ, you can try to discredit me all you want, its no sweat off my balls. The photos speak for themselves. Heres another shot from a older Service Honda bike.

As long as your in the typing mood, explain two things to everyone so its crystal clear, and directly from you.

1. How does stuff like this get out the door. It IS one of your bikes, correct? You made it, correct?

2. What are you going to do about all those first generation CDI units that dont work? You know the ones I'm talking about, the ones you no longer sell. We discussed it before with you taking ZERO action on it. I know one guy with 4 of them ( Jay L. in Yucca Valley) sitting in boxes who was told to go pound sand on the $2,400 he has tied up in them, gathering dust. As long as your into making things right with your customers, make it right with him. Mike S. in San Clemente also has one and he was told the same thing. There are countless others I'm sure.

Step up AJ, take care of these people.

Wink
I guess AJ / Service Honda isnt going to do anything for the guys who got suckered on the first generation digital ignitions.... too bad.

So did I.

1. That AlisoBob is a whacko and I wouldn't believe anything that spews from his mouth or pictures he posts from what I've read.

2. Scooter5002 was a right to expose a business ripping off other motobros

3. AJ and Service Honda know their shit.

4. George didn't have the balls to show up and back his own business and shoddy workmanship.

On this particular bike the welds failed at the "Y" where the cradle and downtube meet. This was at vet fest at Red Bud last summer. It broke after the TT before Laroccos Leap. He rode it around the water truck trail trying to get it off the track but the only thing keeping the engine/ cradle from falling out was the radiator hoses and then they finally slipped off. You can tell the disgust in his expression as well as the crowd checking it out.

I personally saw this happen and I know what I saw as well. The welds were a bit cold looking in the areas that failed.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid Lucifa..... Email this photo to AJ himself, to see if its real. All you guys put him up on a pedestal.... he's just a guy who works in a dingy shop.... building bikes the same way he did 15 years ago.... Theres no magic there, just smoke, mirrors, and cool stickers.

I might just chime in here with my 2 cents worth, I have 3 SH AF and 1 is perfect the other two are pretty lazy workmanship.

Motor hits the frame, spacer in the front engine mount because it was built poorly.

The other the frame rails are so far off the engine case the exhaust barely fits. So your stuck with only one exhaust design whereas it could of been possible to fit any exhaust no sweat.

They are still work fine but your not paying for attention to detail your only paying for the name.

How can anyone really defend against random allegations? You cant, and why you don't see many businesses
actively involved in the forums

You may have 3 SH bikes, you may not? What I do know for fact, is that we have never used a spacer on any CR 500AF front engine mount, on any year model. So.. your built poorly allegation is on what basis? A bike likely bought used, they may or may not be SH bikes, and anything could have been done to them prior to your ownership.People often misrepresent to try and get a higher resale value. You should see some of the stuff sent to me that were purchased on ebay or craigslist ,etc as an SH bike that was not..

The only pipes that fit our model, are FMF and Pro Circuit designed for the Service Honda 500AF bike ,
it has nothing to do with frame rail location or interference. In Europe, DEP has a pipe that fits as well, and built for 500AF's.
Please define what *any * exhaust you would have liked to fit, why i should try and design the bike around some pipe i'm unaware of to fit? (the stock CR500 pipe would not fit without modification regardless).
Since the frame rails incorporates the engine mount, thats as tight to the engine as the original CR500.
I'm pretty confident Honda only made the CR500 to accept pipes designed for the CR500.

Service Honda has made CR - 500AF's longer than Honda did , at this point. 1997 to 2014 models.

Bad design makes fitting most pipes impossible. Plenty of room wasted.

I know you did not buy it from Service Honda, or from our licensed distributors in Australia like Prestige Honda.
So bought a used bike, that could have been changed and hold it up as an example.Like i stated prior no way to defend against net allegations , on a bike on another continent .If you buy a used CRF450, and have it shipped across the pond, it may have similar issues.
We use new 01 CR250 engines in the 250AF , and new 01 CR500 engines in the 500AF.
We use new 1999 125AF engines in the CR125AF.

Above is the 01 SHwill just keep spewing out their rettrick of it not our problem it's second hand. But for them to suggest someone is buying a 12k SH bike and cutting them up fur resale is absurd.

That's my 2 cents, ride safe.

I'd imagine someone bought used bikes, then sold them to you, taken apart or modded and shipped to Aussie to avoid import authorization,VAT, taxes, used and piece meal.Happens all the time actually in many countries.
Odds are very high you were intentionally circumventing buying a new or used AF from us and our distributor in Australia, to avoid those costs. No problem with that at all, buying a used bike, but then now using those used bikes you bought piecemeal as evidence of what a customer buying a new or used Service bike, from us, is equally absurd,
don't expect me to just let that lay.

I checked, no CR250AF's were sold into Australia. Only 500AF's and 125AF's.
If you had a problem, amazingly you never contacted Service Honda, or our distributor in Australia,
and no we are not responsible for used bikes altered after they leave here. I gave you my direct email, you have chosen to not contact me directly, so don't expect me to take this that seriously.

So aj your saying service honda won't offer a life time warrantee regulardless of modifications and abuse to as many owners as the bike will see gee that's a bit unfair ha ha
