My predictions..
450's
One of Emigs keys to the race will be getting a good start.

Three different color bikes will be on the podium.
A rider on a yellow bike will go down, but not be seriously hurt.
Someone wearing Nike boots will be on the podium.
A green bike will have mechanical issues.
Barcia will have a new hairstyle.

250's
A rookie will do surprizingly well.
Mookie will get more airtime than anyone else while battling for top 10.
An orange bike will be on top of the podium.
One of Emigs keys to the race will be being able to run up front with the fast guys.

After his solid showing in moto one of the MEC I feel Villopoto will be hard to top. He hasn't seemed to have lost anything after the injury. Stewart will be lightning fast, but will he keep it upright? Same applies to BamBam, speed for days but doing a solid 20 laps should be his goal. Reedy & the Dunge will be smart, they know that you can't win a championship in the first round, but you can certainly lose it.
One thing is assured though, A1 will provide really exciting racing. Bring on supercross 2013!

I'm sorry, but RV having a "one and done" day, out of a 3 moto format isn't what I'd call a "solid" performance. Especially when Dungey was riding around shifting with his hand! lol...

I think you're right about Stewart, but I feel RV is very close to becoming the new Stewart. Not as bad, but going fast, crashing, getting hurt, and now quiting the day at MEC, seems to be more like Stewart as time goes on. Time will tell.

I predict a Kawasaki advert at the most decisive moment of the night.

* Stewart either laps most of the field or crashes trying.. I'm guessing a 5th-10th finish for him after a crash. IF he makes it to the main. If he calms down and rides smart, he could easily finish 1st/2nd.

Barcia may surprise a few a few folks, he's going to be tough. He won't be afraid to run it in on someone, but I don't see him punting anyone to the bleachers.. that would put a huge Friese sized target on his back. I think he's smarter than that.

Reed effortlessly slides back into his old form. Not sure he'll have the fortitude to run at RV/JS pace, but who knows -- he gets better with age! He'll ride smart and won't take too many chances.

Dungey rides smart and won't risk being too aggressive at this first race of the season. He has what it takes to lead a few laps with a good start, but I don't think he has the answers to everyone's questions.

Villopoto rides strong & won't be afraid to push back if challenged. With a good start in the main he could check out because of the competitiveness of the rest of the field. I'd love to see a long, hard fought RV/JS duel.

Alessi may grab some starts and lead a few laps, but he consistently struggles in whoops. Unless he's stepped up his training program during the off season I see a lot of 5th-10th finishes for him. That's where I expect him to finish at A1.

On a good night Grant will have what it takes to run in the top 3, but the deck is stacked this year. He'll have to work hard to get in the top 5 - I don't see him working through this pack, but with a good start he could get a podium. I predict 5th-10th at A1.

Deano - 5th-10th.
Kdub - 5th-10th.
Weimer - 5th - 10th.
Looks like most of the top riders made it through the training season unhurt. I've seen some ride footage & listened to interviews.

I'm sticking with my prediction above for the most part... could see Reedy moving up a spot.

I will make it easy
I really Wish Stewart wasn't so cocky I want to root for him but bubbas world ruined that dream for me
But I call him winner for tomorrow
Reed is like canard very tenacious and might bite villy In the ass and take 2nd with 3 laps left while stewart is leading and villy will miss the open window to pass Stewart
Dungy 4th and canard 5th

Man just watched Atlanta from last year. It's was floating around on my DVR. After watching that I really hope someone can run with the two Ryan's this year. They killed it that race. Stewart actually kinda caught them first half of race but after that they dropped him. Can't wait for A1!

Bubba's world was scripted and I guess he was a good actor because it convinced some people.
