This is not the first time I see this kind of stuff on Chad`s twitter. I remember Pourcel and Stewart getting a lot of shit from this board for not "honoring" contracts. Guess what - "industry" doesn`t either.

A few years ago a rider asked me to take a look at a gear contract he was getting stiffed on. My understanding is that the agent repped both the rider and gear co. The contract couldn't have been more poorly done in terms of protecting the rider and giving him zero practical options in the sort of situation at hand.

I think good agents who play only one side of a deal for a rider can do them good. Sometimes, though, it may cheaper for a rider in demand to pay a decent lawyer to review a deal than have an agent broker it. At least you can go back with some counters that would protect the rider, and the rider will have a good sense of who he's dealing with if the counter is refused.

If I had to foster a guess, I'd imagine this has to do with Chad trying to add Dean into the second slot option that Honda had as part of the contract for TwoTwo. If that was the case, it would be Honda walking away from that support or at least not the full support that was expected. It's already been speculated that the second spot would be a non factory bike. I imagine Honda may be pushing back on Wilson because of them having Barcia.

I remember Bel Ray kinda dumping him last year but still, contracts are usually good as wiping your ass with 9 times outta 10 anymore in the USA. Seems like if a individual tries to get out of one the individual never does but when a company wants to the court almost always seems to side with them.

Howard Stern got pimped hard by Sirius in his contract. He was owed ALOT of money by them for stock options and bonuses and basically somehow the judge said Sirius did not have to honor the contract. Happens to everyone.

They were definitely talking to each other. I was standing two feet away when they were talking. Chad was pointing at parts of the track. It definitely wasnt official talks about what bike BT101 was riding next year !!

That's a classic example of Dual Agency, which I consider a conflict of interest. There is no way that agent can properly represent each parties best interest . But it does sound like he represented the side better who is going to continue paying him money.

I agree, but Chad is smart enough to broker his own deals is what I'm saying.

The more I learn about the business side of mx the more I laugh. Its no wonder they're no big corporate sponsors, they think on a global scale, the mx industry can't think past the mx industry.

There is business smarts and just flat out intelligence, they are 2 completely different things. Any rider who is of high intelligence would no better than to pursue Moto as anything but a hobby !!

JT money strikes me as one smart cookie, As does Kevin Windham. I won't comment on who I think is dumb because that's not nice. I feel like Dungey, Reed and Windham, have a very good business sense about them.

If I was a betting man I'd put my chips on it being Honda not honoring the contract about a second rider option. Especially by him saying he is just going to do what he wants from now on. I mean he was doing pretty good on that PC Honda so he doesn't need factory support. I hope he gets deano anyways and says ef Honda..

I'm a big fan of K-Dub but wasn't he sued by yamaha years back when he broke contract with them to ride for honda? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought about reading something along these lines in racer x or one of the other industry mags.

Far as best deals in the biz I would have to think Carey Hart, Watson, and Ricky C are pulling some huge sponsers in. Didn't Hart say that he only agree's on multi year deals with his big sponsers?

I think the dispute was with Suzuki. He broke his femur on a zuk and was talking about hanging it up and not racing anymore or something, then came back on a honda outdoors....

I can't remember which Transworld feature it was - I think it was the video one where they have a trivia-off between Adam Cianciarulo, a homeschooled 7th grader (at the time), and a number of professional riders. The kid destroyed RV, when Reed handled him fairly easily. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But Ryan comes off as sharp enough when he speaks, and really is for all I know. I thought he did a good job in the announcer's booth back in 2010 too, a place you wouldn't want Dungey within 100 feet of.
