So I was right, the start straight is extremely short. Whoever gets first gate pick will be laughing!

Why, when they have so much land to use did they build it quite like that?

Hooking up the trailer tomorrow and will be heading down Thursday afternoon. Getting psyched. I really wish we had a track like Lierop, in the trees and 100% sand, but it is what it is and we will have a killer time and support the series and hopefully be treated to a ridiculous 250 finale.

It looks like at least a million in construction, dirt and equipment. No other national venue as nice as that place, as far as a complete facility and amenities...wow.

To somewhat justify the huge building cost, I assume the track will serve double duty by hosting big pro truck\ buggy races other times of the year.

Back on topic, Glen Helen really needs to come back. However, I am very, very intrigued to see this place on TV on race day. I think it is going to be very picturesque.
You should of seen some of his other videos, he has tamed it down since a bunch of people including myself made fun of him.

He used one line on his first elsinore video "look at this folks, I am actually SINKING in this dirt".....He is quite the toolbag. He never leaves home without that measuring tape either, HAS to know to the inch how far each jump is.

He swings from the sack of Elsinore and Perris so be ready....

If i hit the lotto i would buy the piece of land off of I-75 in GA on the south bound side inbetween cartersville and calhoun i believe its mile marker 306. There is a rest area on the north bound side and its directly across from it. I would turn that into a national caliber track and hopefully get the first southeast national. Smile I love dreaming! But that piece of land is perfect for a real national track. the natural curves and layout of that land is amazing. But im sure just to buy that land would cost a couple mil.
We used to race at Calhoun a lot. I know exactly where you are talking about. How about hurry up and get that track going. We could use another national level track close to home. LOL

That is not a stupid question, but it was a stupid answer.

Pala was its own clusterphuck of epic proportions from everything that was spewed back and forth here on Vital. To be abandoned so quickly, it had to have been bad.

I'll wait till the race to pass judgement on the Elsinore track. They've obviously put a lot of work into it.

Looks good, bring it on!! My only concern is that some of the fences are pretty close to the run-off areas. Wouldn't want to plow thru one of those...

this is an abomination to american MX.....while i don't mind one track being a glorified SX (Troy and now Freestone) but to have TWO is pretty lame...theres a series for tracks like this..it's called SUPERCROSS

It's a shame Glen Helen isn't around anymore because that is a real motocross track

All that white fencing is plastic. I doubt they will let people near it as you get three people leaning on it and something is going to snap. As for traffic, after the Pala traffic nightmare I imagine they will be more prepared.

A lot of the dirt there has been mixed up with stuff and isn't bad ( just make sure you wash your bike and gear right away to avoid the stank ) ... but the sections with older, unmixed dirt are a little spooky after the water truck has hit them. It literally turns to teflon. I remember the first time I skittered and slid down a straight after it was watered thinking there's no way they can hold a Nat with this dirt. They will probably have mixed ALL of the dirt for the race.

I don't mind flat, SX style tracks except that the viewing is so limited. So I'll be watching it on the tube.

Beaumont is more like 45 minutes to an hour away from Elsinore.......they will never have a national, you cant even ride there legally anymore

I did say just past that mountain right?LOL It has always been illegal....But I heard somewhere that the were trying to make it a OHV park.Natural MX heaven.

IMO ya GLEN HELEN is real motocross.Rode there for years and nothing like elevation changes.

This Lake Smellsomemore Track does look flat.But hey they did a great job and invested alot of money and my hat is off to the owners and everyone involved.

place looks cool but with this race following other tracks with history it makes me cringe when I hear him talk about "hills" and "elevation changes".

i applaud Mark and the owners of Elsinore.

this may not have the perfect dirt or elevation for everyone, but this is the way a national caliber track should look.

stoned spectator parking, stoned pro pits, close to big cities, water hook ups for teams, amazing sets of bleachers, great viewing areas, ect...

these guys did a top notch job here and this place is going to look amazing on TV.

Variation as in a jumbo sized supercross track? Never been to either spot, but checking out videos and gopros, the track you want the nationals at is Glen Helen. Not a thousand loads of fill spread out on a flat surface with "elevation changes".

Pala's dirt is MUCH better. Probably has the best dirt in So Cal. Elsi has horrible dirt that has been made "better" by trucking in horse shit.

Pala actually does have some REAL elevation changes. Not all man made like Elsi.
