I also use to think that the '95 CR250 was one of the ugliest bikes of all time. After buying one a few years ago for vintage racing, the look has actually grown on me, and I like it now. A white front number plate and disc guard seems to help.

I agree with almost all the bikes, specially with 91 RM 125, 92 RM 250, YZF 2010-2012 and the infamous TM 94.

The RM's yes, but the 1992 Honda CR125? When I think of a Honda motocross bike thats pretty much the image that I think of.

I disagree with the 07-10 KTM's. I actually like their look overall more than the look now. Not a big fan of either, but I don't have any beef with the '07.

Good choices, except for the CRs. While I would feel awkward on one today, there is no way their final resting place belongs alongside the others. Especially the final evolution of the BNG KX500.

Yes. I'm glad that KTM makes mini's that run with them now, because those cobras are absolutely the ugliest looking dirt bikes ever made. Besides maybe that 92 RM250 above which basically just looks like a Cobra on steroids.

I remember seeing one of those Vertematis at a shop when I was a kid. The guy was trying to sell one to my dad so hard. What a hunk of junk. I think the 97 CR should be on here, along with the mid-2000's Huskys.

How did the 93-95 YZs get left off the list. As the owner of 2 of them I thought they were ugly then and they haven't gotten better with time.

x2. I'm ambivalent about the prior years YZs... The right radiator cover was HUGE, made the rest of the bike look deformed.

You have a good point there to some extent. I had almost forgot about that jewel. I will say that the 92 CR made a much bigger impression on me. I always thought KTM's were ugly, so that bike was no big surprise back then. Honda on the other hand had been my favorite bikes since I was a kid so I was absolutely horrified when I first saw one of those things back in 92.

I also cannot rationalise the fender/sideplate combo.




The new YZ450F actually looks worse in person than it does in pictures.

The only truly ugly bikes in that article are the 82 KX, Can-Am, and the TM. The rest are just bad graphics or color schemes. Beauty is only skin deep but ugly is to the bone.
