Hope you all are enjoying an awesome day back at the races, after a long 2 weeks of no national MX. I'm sure the riders appreciated the time time off.

I ran into the gate a couple weeks ago for the first time in like 25 years...you'd think a my age (39) I'd have the nerves out of my system.

I was walking by the start line at Devils Ridge in NC..a long time ago..and the 125C class was on the line and the board had just turned sideways and the guy on the outside has his front wheel pressed against the gate. I stopped to watch because..well you know this is going to be good. So he has the throttle pinned and his wheel against the gate and the gate drops..for everyone else and this dude just lets go of the clutch. The gate flips over backwards and catches his front tire and he goes over the bars..like full handstand over the bars. I always wondered if someone explained to him the concept of the backwards falling gate.

Haha, I did that once. Just trading lies (bench racing) in the parking lot when I heard the first wave go. (1 hr race, multi-row start by class) By the time I got to the line my row was half way around the track.

Here in Kansas, we got LOTS of old tractor tires...those things get hard as rocks after they lay out in the weather for a few years! LOL
