Is this guy deserving of another shot at a factory (or whatever you wanna call it these days) ride? I won't mention any names but there are quite a few factory guys out there (not injured) that he is whupin up on every week now.

I'm sure there's also quite a few factory team owners that don't want to deal with the drama associated with the Alessis.

I think he is under the right tent for how he is riding. In order to get a factory ride again he would have to show the speed of the big 5. I think until he steps into that group and not finishes behind them 20 secs. he should be where he is. Great guy though and good to see him on the rise.

Yep.
They also seem to be very happy and at home with their MC program.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.... Just keep moving forward with it.
Pretty cool to see them making a success out of that program/team,doing their own thing.
With that said,I hope Genova/Team MC sticks around the sport for quite sometime.
It's cool to see them doing it on their own and competing with the factory teams and other big players in the MX industry.

Hmmmm not sure if your watching this years nationals but uh he is in second place and the only one putting 20sec is RD. I feel Mike is riding really well especially since he is not getting any factory support at all. The dude also has matured quite a bit. Yeah he makes some questionable blocking moves on the track but he just doesn't roll over when Rd comes up on him.

So do you think the MC team will get factory support next year Steve?

It's a "moot point"...
Because they are happy where they are at and not shopping around....They also still have a year left on their contract (both sides are happy).Guy's do indeed get out of contracts when they are not happy with their current situation (bike, money, team, ect) or they feel something is holding them back (that can go both ways , for rider & team). That doesn't seem to be the case with the Alessi's or Genova. I think they will keep moving forward. I think both parties are proud of what they are accomplishing at this point.
Maybe after next season ,it may not be a "moot point".But currently it is.

My best guess would be....
If Suzuki coughs up some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and support to the team to where it is profitable (used loosely) to the team. Then YES! If not, then NO!

He needs to finish strong in the stadium before he gets another offer to ride for a factory team.

Riding for the factory brings extra pressure and expectations, while I do think he is deserving, perhaps consider that he may not need the extra pressure at this time and he seems to be thriving on his own.

Interesting question, Maybe the "ain't broke, don't fix " makes sense, but on the other hand, how could a bit of factory support translate in cutting down those 20 sec gaps? Hard to say.

If Suzuki steps up/The bikes would "Look" like an actual Suzuki (Yellow)...does Suzuki care? That's the Question.

Isn't NOW a good time for a Factory to make an offer to the MCR crew?...OR...should the MCR guys bother looking at another brand? (Honda...Kawi...KTM)

Btw, WHO is the most successful Privateer Team this year?

What are you guys talking about? Last I checked Mike was racing a factory MCR 450. But seriously, MotoConcepts separated themselves from the factory for a reason. If they wanted support from Suzuki they would make the thing yellow and brand it as such. Otherwise you have to assume Mike and MCR are happy with the current arrangement and no one should sweat it.

Didn't you guys listen to the pulmx show last week? Mike said himself that his JT Racing, WE ALL RIDE, FMF, Silkolene, MB1 Suspension, MotoGraphics, Pro Taper, NorthWest Steel Fab, Boyesen, Alpinestars, Xtrig, UFO, Tuf Racing, KSR Wheels, DT1, MotoOptics, All Balls, Galfer, Supersprox, Excel, Hinson, Airway MX Park, Faction Mx MCR450 with Dunlop tyres is already great. This was in response to a question where Matthes asked him in what areas would factory parts improve the bike. Matthes and Watson said afterwards that Mike is "so politically correct it is sickening."

He is riding well though. Good to see him getting back to his best.

Don't try to fix something what isn't broke!

I think that the problem is that Mike is an outdoor specialist. If he ran this good indoors, Suzuki would have factory equipment under him.

Does Suzuki pay contingency? If not why would they ride them?

For Mike's "things" he rode very, very good indoors this season! But indeed if you aren't a good supercross rider you can forget a good contract we saw that with allot of Europeans too!

I see them continuing with their program, Read some of Genova's latest interviews, he is pushing forward with the team ebing independent of a manufacturers help. Personally i think its cool to see them run up front. Have a lil different ran team in the mix. I'll be interested to see who the 2nd big name 450 rider they sign is gonna be. Heard a rumor that they are talking to metcalfe.

Since the moto concepts team already has some factory parts and choses not to use them im curious to why the suzuki factory team does not purchase there engine parts from moto concepts.the engine is reliable makes more and better power and can do it with a quieter exhaust .the suspension may be a diferent story.

I agree...Alessi is essentially a throw out in SX in the US no big money player care about Outdoors. I think he could do very well at the GPs not to mention make a shit load of money.

Agreed. And I think he could do even better: I think he's got a mental block indoors. But the stadiums pay the bills. I feel sorry for Mike and I hope he improves this year. And good for MotoConcepts, too.

Mike's "things"...that's good!
