Is this guy deserving of another shot at a factory (or whatever you wanna call it these days) ride? I won't mention any names but there are quite a few factory guys out there (not injured) that he is whupin up on every week now.
I think you have been caught in a time warp about 5 years ago,
you make a HUGE assumption that the top level of performance from Suzuki comes from Japan.

I personally think he's burned way to many bridges and not too many others want to deal with the drama that is Tony A.

I think Mike has a shot at the Arenacross title next year with his great starts, sticking his leg way out in turns and natural ability to look everywhere but in front of himself when racing.

You hit it on the nail head the day where the factory team asked for a different transmision ratio or a special connecting rod or a berryilium aluminum cylinder that would be made in japan those days are gone ,but we have all of that available it just cost money and time roush racing for example will build what ever you want if you can aford it .I just started working with a company here in the US that manufactures stand alone ecus that are so completley adsjustable they can be comparable to motec, things like ignition coil saturation time can be controled ever sensor in the system .ts al coming .

As for the other hand.
He's been under the factory Suzuki tent in the past,things didn't go the way they wanted them to go with the factory stuff.
Remember all the stories...things about shocks/parts ect...?
To make a long story short,he is much happier now with the MC program from what I can tell(from listening to Tony & Mike and just watching results ect..). He is in a better place I believe that suits him much better.
The Alessi's have always had their own way of doing things.
What works for Rider A doesnt mean it is going to work for rider B,C,D,E.
Just because a guy has factory support doesn't mean it is going to make him faster and make his program/bike better.
The Alessi's would be a perfect yet loose example of that.
