WOW talk about a new power player in the world of MX AC winning the Gp's 450 and Herlings and Searle winning the 250's in GP and RD running away with the 450 nationals and K-roc right in the mix for the 250 title battle. How impressive would it be if KTM won both titles on either side of the pond. Has this ever been done before the same manufacturer win all 4 titles .

You're right Kong.....it is an impressive start for the KTM team. They seem to have all their ducks in a row this year and things are looking up! Over here....unless something happens , I think RD will wrap this title up. In the lites class....Roczen's wins are right around the corner , and they are close enough he can smell em'! I dig that kid and I know he wants it bad.....and I have a feeling some wins are in the very near future.

I find it really interesting how short the MX worlds memory is and how fast perceptions change. I'm sure if you searched this site you'd find dozens of posts with guys saying Dungey is done for choosing KTM etc etc.. . now we are getting used to seeing a KTM with a 45 second lead in the 450 class like its totally normal and of course theres two orange steeds in the top 5 of the 250 class each week. The real swing I think will come if KTM sign up another tier one rider.... Imagine Dungey & Wilson both on KTMs, plus Roczen with a years track knowledge under his belt... now we're talking!

I've often said the same thing,it's not the MX world, just the Vital world,Laughing

KTM has survived most of the injuries this year. In MX they have a shot of dominating... In SX not so much.

Maybe not dominating, but I don't see RD finishing out of the top 3 in sx points wise for the next couple years anyways. That's still pretty good.

Because nobody is riding the 350 for one. KTM's results have completely shut-up the likes of carlosmacho.

Everyone is riding 350 except Dungey and Dedycker. BTW Dedycker just got a new 2013 engine for his Dungey replica 450. He thinks he can podium in Sweden.

I bet Wilson rides alongside Dungey next year on Red Bull KTM. Stamp it!

Debate has been going on about that for a long time. I'm 100% for the 350, but not having it in the nationals is giving the anti-ktm guys less to bitch about.

what about how short was gonna holeshot every race and be back in the top 3 now that he's off the POS KTM and back on the Honda

I just don't get how people can have a hate for a motorbike brand especially one that offers as many bike options as KTM

Do you know how close Nagl's 450 was to the one Dungey and Big Ken are on?

I'd put money on Wilson testing the 350 seriously as well as the 450 if he went to KTM,the top 3 KTM 250 guys in MX seem to love it,Strijbos ran upfront last week in the Belgian GP on his privateer version too.

Stefan Everts said himself that they made a mistake trying to get 450 riders to ride the 350. He said they will move Kenny and Musquin up to the 350 in a couple of years..

Wouldnt say so, maybe in Europe. Honda won 2 sx championship and Kawasaki took the 450 sx crown. Ktm's biggest chance for a title is in 450 mx class unless Dungey wads it up. 250 class? I'd but my money on a Kawasaki or Honda mounted rider.

In all fairness, no brand really has a shot at dominating in SX if all the guys are healthy. Honda's looking good though with Reed & Barcia.

Is harsh, but Short's 'Mr 3rd Place' guy days are over no matter what brand he is on.

I know we say this every year and half of them end up on the surgery table.. but imagine this line up:

RV
Dunge
Reed
Stewart
Barcia
Wilson
Canard
Pourcel (possibly)

YIKES! Some of the regular second tier podium guys like Short, Milsaps, Metcalf, Brayton & co are gonna struggle to get their normal/expected results. Thats if everyone stays healthy and these days, they never do!

exactly... I definitely didn't mean it as an insult (if anyone took it that way).. dude's solid but it wasn't the bike

yeah Dungey isn't chasing anyone or getting chased and he's gapping them by 30+ imagine all the roosters in there upping his speed and filling that 30 sec gap.. (not saying he'd still be winning all the time)

unfortunately, cause I like those dudes, the guys you mentioned aren't even really proving to be the leaders of the second tier guys anymore with Weimer and Tickle in there and I guess you'd say Alessi is second tier too (I was thinking he's a tick faster but he's kinda not)

it'd have to suck having their amount of skill and working as hard as they do to just eat roost all day to battle for a top ten and have no real chance at getting wins..

but ya right, which sucks, I don't think we'll ever get every heavy hitter out there..

In the GPs, since the change to the MX1, MX2 and MX3 class format in 2003, here’s the scorecard for championships by brand:

KTM 13
Yamaha 10
Suzuki 2
Honda 1
Kawasaki 1

Well Carlos is banned last time I heard so he is completely shut up. I think it says nothing about the bike. Dungey is a fast rider regardless the bike. But RV were here, KTM would have nothing at this point, they would not be leading the 450 or the 250 so to say it is the bike is dominant is a bit of a strech. KTM has improved, no link. The reason no KTM haters, no one is riding a 350. Are KTM's reliability issues a thing of the past? I don't know because I don't own one, but I prefer the Japanese bikes, and I don't like orange, they look like a pumpkin and black and orange is so Halloween.

How many 450 mx series has RV completed? Consitency is as much a part of championships, as speed is. Right now, RD would be winning on his current bike or the 2012. He's just much better than the competition & would overcome shortfalls of the bike. Yes, I believe the RD5 Replica is better than it's predicessor, I believe it's predeicessor could also be competitive in todays field. Who said the bike is dominant, I haven't seen one?

One of those people that buys based on color & the feeling that Jap Bikes are somehow American. I think you would be happier opening your eyes to change.

Ya, but it has a smaller engine displacement so it wont be able to turn the same laptimes as the 450s . My best attempt at sarcasm.
