His words from Pulpmx show a few minutes ago.

He sounds pumped about riding, his health, and how his ankle feels.

Kenny says he'll be there to support him.

I say top 5, what say you?

It's great he is racing but top 5? If he is inside the top 15 by day's end it would be a very impressive weekend.

I dont know. He sounds so positive and if he just focuses on one race and its his local national, I think he can do it for sure.

And remember, Washougal is like Southwick, local guys can step up and do well.

I don't think a top 10 is out of the equation.
Hill has been riding a lot around here training and it wouldn't surprise me if he has been riding at Washougal to prep for it.

I think it's amazing he can even ride after what he went through. Just getting out there and finishing is an accomplishment. But with the enormous natural ability Hill has it wouldn't surprise me if he did well.

Can you imagine how different our sport would be right now if guys like Josh Hill and Treynard would stay injury free. It's time for these guys to get//stay healthy and win championships.

Here's a highlight video that Kyle Galbraith did from Albany's PRO NWMX National Series race last weekend with some clips of Josh Hill in it.

Just a warning guys. Turn off your volume before you watch this. Jesus, was that hip hop emo? My ears are puking.

Good to hear Josh is coming back for a pro race though. 7 months passed since A1 so hopefully that time has been good for his ankle injury.

I hope he can get a start and run up front and it wont be unrealistic for him to finish top 5 if he can get his conditioning set. Great venue for a comeback, he'll certainly have the crowd into it.

Heck yeah Tim!! Hey.....what's the deal with the new number 12? Different series he ran some where? When you talk to Rory next , tell him I said hello AND let him know I have been talking to ol' Jason Parks again lately. If I decide to ever friggin' ride again , I'll probably be doing some riding with Parks and Rands.....would be good to have a ride day with Rory if he's free.

What's Parks been up to? Talk about a blast from the past. Last time I talked with him was after he destroyed himself at Homan's. He is one of the OG crew from when I worked at Hillsboro Honda back in 95-96...............those were the times.....

Top 5 isn't happening, but best wishes for a great day and a good finish. Josh Hill in pre-backflip form, and what he was about to become....I believe that time has passed. He was on the brink...made the worst decision of his career...and he has suffered dearly ever since.

Agreed. Top 5 in a class where Brayton can't even break into the top 10? I don't think so.
6/12/2012 10:29am
So let me get this straight.

He has not completed anything other than maybe ONE SX heat race in the past 3 or so years, and I don't think he has ever even raced a 450F outdoors, ever.

But you guys think he will finish 5th or better?

I'm a big Josh Hill fan, but let's be realistic and just hope he finishes both motos with out re-aggrevating his leg, AND has a smile on his face at the end of the day. That would be a great start.

^^^ Hill did a few MX rounds on the 450 in 2007 and the whole 2008 season (7th overall) for factory Yamaha. In 2007 he started the nationals on a 250 (15th in final points) but they bumped him up to the big bike for last 2 rounds. He had a long string of bike troubles on the 250 mid season so they moved him up.

He has missed a lot of time and I think top 15 is a reasonable goal for a return.

Matt georke won southwick a few years ago... so if Hill is feeling as good and comfortable as he sounded on the pulp show i wouldn't count anything out as far as possibilities go. Hill is in the upper echelon of the talent pool, he just needs to get all his ducks in a row and he'll do well. I've been a big fan since i saw him podium his 2nd pro race at Broome-tioga, he has an awesome style.

I hope it works out and does well because he deserves it now after all he's been through.

If he does well i hope factory kawi puts him on there bike for the rest of the season!

Both Hill brothers on mitch's team for 2013?? I'd like to see it.

Southwick sand is an equalizer. That's why I love watching that race. People (locals) come out of nowhere.

# 12 is his enduro cross # and that # was on his 250.....Rory is on a tite budget and new graphics are tough to get. I let him race my RD 450 for a few rounds when I broke my wrist. So # 12 it was.

Rory was at Goldendale for a 2.5 hour gran pirx sunday, he got the holeshot and let for all 81 miles (9laps)
Next week end he is racing the Funky Chicken Nat Hare Scrambles. He had it won beating Garrahan last year but got a flat on the last lap.

Next time you see Parks,,ask him about the time this old man kicked his ass in the Open 4 stroke at Raymond..ahahahha he was so upsetSmile

A top 5 would require at least 10 guys to crash out IMO. I've always like J Hill but let's not get carried away.....

Reasons why I think he can go top 5 at Washougal

-Listen to his interview on Pulpmx. He sounds determined, confidant and happy.

-Hes living at home in Oregon, not getting distracted bro-ing down in Cali.

-Hes riding nothing but our special northwest type soil. He'll be very used to it again by the time the National rolls around.

-Its Washougal, his HOMETRACK.

-Hes still only 22, full of piss and vinegar and feels like he has a lot to prove.

If thats not enough reason for you, go back and listen to the interview again.
