True, it's obvious to everyone that James didn't like the YZF and switched to the RMZ. He likes it better and it showed out on the track. Why do we need to keep beating this into the ground?

Just playing Devils advocate, but could it be that some people only think James is giving it his all when he crashes? And when he doesn't crash they say he's just holding back and cruising? I don't know. I thought he looked GREAT! I thought Dungey looked off and the suspension looked a little ragged. And No way would Baggett's times be near his big Green brother RV's times had he been there and healthy ,IMHO. That being said,I'm glad James is back and happy on the Zook. Hope we get some good, clean, safe battles all summer long.
I don't know why everyone thinks RV is unbeatable outdoors! He did win the C'ship, but he only won 3 OA's! He's won 4 OA's outdoors in 4 yrs in the 450 class. And everybody says James crashes out of every c'ship!Whistling

Stewie talked about a couple clicks between motos for set-up on Racer X. I think the bike issues were real.

James didn't get along with the Yamaha like Reed didn't get along with the Kawasaki. It doesn't mean the Yamaha is bad, it just didn't suit him. I remember when everyone was raving about the 1987 CR250 and how great it was. I bought one and hated it. It just wasn't for me for whatever reason.
you're comparing your own comfort level on an old honda racing out at "little dicks raceway" with stewarts comfort level on a 2012 yamaha on the mx nationals? yer crakin me up man...

Stewart rides great when alone and cruising. And he can slice through the field like no one before or since. But RC knew it in 2005, and it's been proven over time: James sometimes cracks under pressure. Often spectacularily.

Dungey may not have the persona or mindset to get into James' head, and he sometimes lacks that killer instinct, which will pay dividends for the Stewart camp. However, Dungey's consistency will require James to focus on overall results, not just wins, as riders typically lose points when the bike is laying on the ground.

How could he be wrong Stewart won and RV wasn't there (couldn't be there actually). Looks pretty accurate to me.

When I look at how RV has been getting progressively faster and dominant...and I combine that with the lap-times that RD and Davi...and the rest put down...

I truly believe it would have been a WHOLE lot different with RV racing.

But, I could be wrong...

Quality post!

But I don't see 4-6 guys that are capable of winning. I see two guys that are capable of winning, two guys that are on the injured reserve, and two guys that could get lucky...........if all the stars magically line up.

And all of them are highly capable of laying the smack down. I remember going to pro tracks and thinking, "I can do that, I can do that". Then seeing guys I'd ridden local tracks with struggle, my tune quickly changed to, "I couldnt do that, I couldn't do that".

Yes. And he did it on a second to last lap.
I'm not saying this isn't impressive but stewart used to do the same on a 125 when RC was on a 250. Those guys on 250f's are flying and have the bikes pinned, but I will still never believe that any rider--EVER--will use all 450 cc's.

You see kids on 85's that can hang with 125's and 250f's. It's all the rider, and most times it's purely corner speed. There aren't half mile long straight aways on pro tracks.

I'd also be willing to bet Baggett wouldn't have gone much more than a second faster a lap on a 450.

A confident James, is a fast Bubba. Whether it was the Yamaha, or in is head, who cares! Hope Dungey gets comfortable and picks up the pace. Heck, want Villipodium out there too. Still, it looks like a summer of great racing. 24 and Oh? Please, "NO".

Who wants to watch that? Thirty second leads from dynasty riders aren't any fun to watch. Yes, they're exciting, but they're not any fun. Sport needs diversity, 7-9 guys that are capable of running up front. Think that is coming to fruition with the semi departure of Factory teams.

Still like to see more of a production rule. Think it would equal the field up quite a bit.
24-0 ends this weekend brother. The Dunge owns Texas. A 1-1 there for Bubba would blow me away but we are talking about James Stewart so anything and everything can happen.

I never was as fast as the great knob gobbler Bobby M, but I raced some nats and one GP (Unadilla 84). You don't have to be on Stewart's level to understand that some bikes suit you better than others. SO fuck you and your "little dick's raceway".

James made the mistake and James did what he could to fix the mistake...and it looks like it paid off.

RV coulda been at hangtown...the outcome would have been the same i'm afraid. Smile

Like counting your chicks before they are hatched, it is too early to say for sure. Though I must admit it is looking good. But what if James starts crashing again? Then what do you say? I say wait and see that is why we have a championship series to make sure it is not just one race, or that you are good on one track, or better on one track condition. I hope James is fixed, whether it be the bike or in his mind.

The bike being good or bad means nothing if you believe one way or the other. The mental part is huge for confidence and that is the case here with James. But I have raced and won lots on the yamaha's in late 90's and early 2000's. I recently rode the new Yamaha after riding Honda's since 02-03' ish. I always ride everyones bikes just to try them out or sometimes guys just want thier bike to clear the triple even if they are not on it, lol. I have had little problem adapting to most any bike in a few laps except that thing. I didn't like it way before I ever heard anything bad about it.

i tend to agree.

for him to go out on 2 weeks worth of testing and just batter the field is a pretty strong statement.

we'll see if he holds up.

Don't start with the "Couklda-shoulda-woulda" and "What if" bullshit Bobby! To me....RD looked to be off the pace....as by how hard he pulled away from your favorite rider out there MA......what 12 seconds? Isn't it usually 30 - 60 friggin' seconds? That is what him and RV were doing last year........This year......if you want to play the "What if" guessing game......there would of been nobody....and I mean nobody that would of ran with RV.

Always easy to talk shit when a rider is down.......but you guys sure don't have shit to say when RV is out there do you? Where the fuck were these comments over the past 2 friggin' years? Ya Fuggin' shit starter.
To me....RD looked to be off the pace..
