No.

The Kawasaki didn't fit Reed that doesn't make it a bad bike. The Yamaha just didn't fit James that does not make it a turd. IMO It seems to suit bigger riders who don't ride over the front so much like a Millsaps.
Exactly! Lots of Pro's have complained about the bike, and some like it.

Look online, they went from $8500. to $5995 for a brand new one in the last couple months.
I also checked my local AD's, and I cant believe how many used YZ450F's there are for sale.....2010's & 2011's for as low as $3500. Everyone is dumping them.
Shoot, just yesterday I offered to pay a guy $1500 to take my 2011 off my hands and he refused unless I would agree to throw in some slightly used chonies. I have been trying to dump my turd ever since I got it.

It looked pretty good riding around in 2nd place in the 1st moto.

The jury is still out...it's a long season.
If he continues to dominate and wins the championship, Yamaha AND Pirelli will look bad. If somewhere along the line this season he steps off big and takes himself out of the running, Yamaha and Pirelli will look like the victims and JS7 will look bad.
Honestly, I can see either one of those scenarios playing out...it will be interesting to see which one it is.

if i was still racing moto and i had the chance to try all the brands out and the yamaha suited me the best.
do you really think i would buy another brand just because a pro didnt gel with it?
i made the mistake when i was young and bought a 250 honda that won all the shootouts in the magazines and honda pros were dominating at that time.
i sold it.was not for me.
2 kinds of dirtbike buyers out there.......one that buys whats winning and trusts the magazines like its the bible
and the the buyer that is looking to jump on a bike that will improve laptimes on varying types of tracks.

Yes, I think so. Even though it was probably just James I think it makes JGR look bad as well.

Yes the image part anyway. And as we know often image is all that matters. Apple products for example. But this is just one race.if he wins the championship it will look worse.

James never competed a JGR Yamaha in an outdoor race so why is everyone so sure he could not have done well on it in MX? How can you compare performance on SX tracks to MX tracks?

Well it certainly did not do the brand any favors... I bet you can hear a pin drop in Torrance on Monday morning,
And Suzuki's now do look as if they would raise a riders level and confidence,

and one looks like a motorcycle, the other looks like an Airbus Aeroplane toilet.

I dont really think it makes the yamaha look bad at all. A guy who had been completely written off a couple years ago runs 2nd in the 1st moto, and in the process, beat the guy who won the championship 2 seasons ago. Anyone that can look at things objectively, and not be blinded by the fact that the bike was bad for james, will see the bike is the problem for him, but others do just fine. The exact same way some people are faster on a 2004 CR125 than they are on a modern 250f.

Its funny because I think the new yamaha actually sold well. Cause my local tracks are filled with them and even my brother has one.

If the sales decrease from james it won't last long cause the bike is already 3 years old with no updates. We will probably see a heavly updated one in the next two years.

Get outta here with your new-fangled common sense and "facts". Nobody here wants to hear any of that. Just like we don't want to hear that the Yamaha is the second lightest 450. It's a heavy turd that huckabuck's everyone off of it. Just accept it.

Oh yeah, and there is no such thing as dinosaurs either.

if stewart makes yamaha look bad and demishing sales start, then what the fuck happened back at how he made 250four strokes look against that little antiquated kx125.four strokes became less popular?

I was thinking the same thing... either he drives really slow, or has never heard of Gopher Dunes, a track on the national circuit.

I think Yamaha will be concerned, Whether it effects sales is yet to be determined. He definitely looks more comfortable on it. He was riding like Gary Bailey pointed to in his interview, finger on the clutch, and balls of his feet. In the interview after the race he didn't even look tired. i think Dungey will get up there with him soon, he just needs to be more aggressive with lappers... and Allessi.

James will win it this year if he doesn't crash and burn. Dungey doesn't have the balls to bring it to him. Milsaps even handed it to him in the first moto. That's always Dungey's problem. He can ride, but needs to to be more aggressive. If he can't deal with that, he's a loser for the championship. I was pulling for him. He has speed, but no balls. It takes more than speed to win a race. Only the first one, but James has set the pace, and put the doubt in every racers mind. I didn't think he could do it, but good for him. He put a little scare out there, that every one has to deal with. Next week, another episode.

At what point did Davi hand it or try to hand it over to Dungey?

I agree 100%! I bought a '96 CR250 because MXA, Dirt Bike and Dit Rider raved about how it was the greatest bike ever and of course team Honda owned the sport. It was the worst bike I have ever owned!!! I was still new to the sport and only later did I realize how to read and analize shoot outs and of course that Mcgrath and the boys were actually using the '93 frame through '96. Even James said the stock bike and his Yosh bike were vastly different. I wouldn't buy a bike based on a factory rider. Ever.

This kinda stuff cracks me up. When riders do bad on Suzuki, "The bike is crap", "Zooks are junk", "inferior yellow shit"

But when riders do bad on Yamaha, "Not the bikes fault", "Average riders will be okay on blue", "bike is okay, just not suited for James."

Cmon you clowns, at least be consistent. The blind allegiance to Yamaha is second only to Harley Davidson.

Suzukis USED to suck (mid 80s to late 90s). I used to hate on them. However, they make good bikes now and have been for years. Anyone that would say otherwise is not as wise as me.
