Check the video.

Random fact...to swap between his 250 and the 350, it only requires swapping the frame, engine, four bolts, and a head pipe and mid-pipe. Everything else is the same.

Marvin's good but I don't think that will be necessary.

I'd like to see Musquin on the 350 at Daytona. A little different venue, perhaps a place where the former World MX champ and the 350 would be the right mix.

You never know.... DAB would be the track where it may come into play. MM is bad ass and many 250 riders have stepped it up in the 450 class...

"Only" requires the frame and engine to be swapped? Isn't that the heart of the bike?

Right. The point is, that the rest of the components are all the same. Tires, wheels, suspension, etc.

Marvin is the right kind of guy to run the 350 I think. Met him at last years dealer meeting and he can't weight much over 150. The 350 is more 250 like than 450 so someone coming off a 250 is perfect.

Guy that actually pretty common with KTM's. They are good about sharing parts between models. They have had the same sprocket mounts on every full size bike since like 98.

That observation came from Marvin's mechanic, Frankie. He said it makes for a nice neat conversion.

I believe he could do VERY well.....thats ther thing about the 350, it takes a GOOD lites rider to be able to do well on it since the power charistics mimic a 250f. Look at how good Roczen did after he shook out the bugs on his 4 or 5th SX race in his career. I think thats the formula to making he 350 look good its the perfect bike for a rider making the jump to 450's because its more of a gradual change and easier to adapt to than having to change your riding style over ..... Shorty was a 450 guy for a LONG time before he got on the 350 .... he even said he had to relearn how to ride the bike the way it needed to be ridden. In a world where lites riders can set times as fast and on occassion faster than the 450's in SX this should be an interesting move for Marv.....Im excited to see how he does as I assume he will do quite well.

Flame on....haha

BTW GuyB about that comment a week or so back about journalists being banned for reporting the truth was a sarcasm comment....we seriously need a sarcasm smiley Wink

Musquin's a solid rider, and I don't see why he can't be doing better than Seely, the 350 is obivously better indoors than out and with some top riders having succumbed to injury there's a good chance of him sneaking into the top 6.

somebody gets it! most people on this sight have nothing good to say about the 350- its designed for riders just moving up off 250fs, and perfectly suited to lighter, 250f riders. Look at Cairoli, roczen, marvin- all perfectly suited to the 350. Herlings goes pretty well on one too! (see des nations 2011)
The bike is not really suited to seasoned 450 riders, you have to ride it like a 250f. Having said that, I think stewart would do very well on the 350!! (suits his style in my opinion)

I honestly think marvin could get a podium in the big boys class, if he can get a decent start. He has great technique for supercross, I think a realistic goal for him would be 5th-10th at the first one, 3rd-5th at the 2nd then podium the 3rd! I think he will be extremely fast at daytona!!! As will roczen

Like to see him on the 2-stroke. They both have about the same power, but one is a whole lot lighter. Of course, we all know that "wouldn't be prudent."

Are the KTM guys running the same rear tire size on the 350 and 250?

I think Marvin will do well, he has shown some great speed on the west and looks comfy on that thing...starts will be key as we saw with Seely-

As for James I can see why you would say that, because of his 125 days, but two things- 1) he fought the 250f and didn't choose to ride it when others did
2nd JGR said they run a hydrolic on Davis to prevent fade...when asked about James they said he really doesn't use the clutch...Reed has commented on this too when he lost control and hit him last year-

Seems to me a clutchy rider would do better on the 350....my 2cents-

What do you think, guys, about his 3 last performances (9 / 4 / 7) on the 350 SX-F in the "big boys" class ?
