So what exactly did he mean when he said that? Is he planing on starting a takeout campaign? I don't mind a little agressiveness and rubbing when the situation presents but when the shit is intentional and calculated, it changes everything. RV put a clean pass on him so why the attitude? I know they all want it bad, that they are competitive etc, etc but to come out and throw that out there without any good justification.........well, perhaps the old Reed is coming back, a shame because he is doing pretty good with his new attitude. I hope that he was just caught in the moment when he said it!

Well back in the day when people walked both ways to school uphill through the snow they took each other out all the time. Smile

That will be good to watch as long as they don't get stupid! Will love to see some battles like RC and RV back in 07, agressive, rubbing but with great respect for each other!

And that's what I'm afraid of! There has been some good racing as of now and it needs to stay that way!

After watching again, that was a clean pass. Reed left the door wide open for him.

From Vital's results sheet: Afterwards, Chad said, “I was way too nice to him, honestly. I gave him way too much room, and just respected him too much, I guess. He ran it in on every turn that next lap. It’s nice. He wanted to win, and did what he needed to do to win, and I’ve got to quit being a pussy and ride hard.” When asked when nice goes away, Chad said matter-of-factly, “It’s gone. That was it. He didn’t do anything dirty, he just was real aggressive, and made sure that pass was made and didn’t care where I was. If I had been James Stewart, I would have pinned it into him and taken us both down. I was a little smarter than that. Like I said, nothing dirty, but real aggressive, and props up. I respect that. It’s just that’s how you’ve got to race to win, and it’s nice to know that.”

Yes.
Anybody that took the time to watch the post-race interview with Hollywood and Reed would understand what he was talking about. I think Reed actually admires the way RV rides, he as much as said so in the interview. RV rides pissed-off and doesn't waste time getting around people, even if it means impeding their progress. Reed was simply saying he needed to adapt to this style of riding and get a little aggressive himself.

I swear some of these guys sit up late at night trying to disect what Chad says then twist it around to suit themselves.....

My advice to them "Get over it children, they are dirt bike riders talking about bikes, not curing cancer, world peace or your family"

Reedy need only apply pressure to RV to see the crashes unfold.

10 will get you 20 Reed is going to put RV down at some point this season, probably sooner than later. I don't have any more problem with that than Atlanta last year, or RV's shot at Dungey in 10. It's inevitable that the season gets to that point when it's close.

That's what I absolutely love about Reed. He doesn't care who you are or what you've accomplished. He is intimidated by nobody. So many guys will be afraid to make an aggressive move on a top guy, even when they're faster than him on that day (ahem Dungey). Not Reed. Look at the guys he's battled with throughout his career. Not once has he backed down from any of them. The only constant from 2003 to now (besides 2010) is Reed. He's always at the top. He always will be until he retires.

Already being stated: The "incident" was obviously ok for Reed, and nothing wrong with his reaction/comments, only problem is that the more Reed is being forced to talk about it, the more will people "Reed" into it...

Good racing no doubt.

So Chad, being smart and not scared of anyone, Will take him and another rider out just because he feels he is riding like a pussy?

So, instead of beating RV with speed and talent he would rather line RV up and take him out because he cant make the pass any other way.

That's smart isnt it. We all saw how that worked out for him when he was on the Kawi.
2/13/2012 1:01am
sounded to me like he was saying RV went in too hard, bullshit to that I say, I like CR but that pass by RV was not aggressive by any means, he gave him room, didn't close the door and didn't touch him.

Reed's qualities are his consistency and outright ability to always be there, i really hope he doesn't start playing overly dirty and aiming for people, its tasteless when you see it and we don't need it increasing anytime soon, expecially from him.

play rough but keep it fair please gents
