Depends what you mean by "richest"...

If you mean who's made the most from direct income from MX/SX then I'd agree that RC or Stewart would be the obvious choices.

If you mean who is actually the wealthiest, I'd have to say that Chad might take that crown.

That BRW list said he made $8.5M this year; if you assume he made no net income from MX/SX with starting his team, then all hat money has come from investments. Let's be aggressive and say that he got 20% return on his assets, that puts his assets at around $40-45M; which wouldn't include his house and other personal assets.

If you assume 10% return his asset base might be more like $80-90M...
Chad started making money in 03. Let's say he didn't make anything in 2011. That's 8 seasons of earnings. He didn't make $10M average. I'd say he made a MAX gross income of $40M (he didn't make $2M in 03). Take away experience, taxes etc... We are far from a net worth of $90M!

This $8.5M figure for 2011 is a total non sense.

The normal answer would be RC, but I would imagine Stefan Everts did pretty well, he raced at a very high level for a very long time. I also imagine KDub has done very well. And didn't Greg Albertson become a very successful real estate developer? Sometimes it's not so much what a guy makes while he's racing, but what he does with it.

Rc because of his 10 years of championships but I think TP and CR will have a future of steady millions per year while RC is pretty much done making his money.

You really think RC is pretty much done making his money? What would bring you to that conclusion? He still has deals with different companies and continues to be very marketable.

Everts said in a recent interview he could have made a lot more money had he raced in America. Supercross probably pays twice what MX does.

Think you mean Albertyn not Albertson when you were referring to real estate.

I know they arent at the front, but what about Windham and MC? They must be in the top 5-6. MC has been pulling endorsement and sponsor money for around 20 years, and KW for close to 15.

Yes I think he is "pretty much done making his money" because I don't see his nascar lasting too many more years and he's pretty much done riding. So I just see a future of advertising and maybe hosting.

While TP will make big until is body quits.

CR will have his team 22 and I can see him getting into another motor sport and actually be successful. Plus he can do the advertising and hosting like RC. Also it seems he is quite the successful investor/business owner in aussy.

Just my IMO

I heard Windhams owns a couple planet fitnesses?

I will to bet MC makes more today than RC today. Being he's still active in our sport, team owner, very involved w/ DC, and racing trucks and actually wining.

People here forget that there is a thing called investing money. It´s something people do to increase their income. I doubt we can guess the right amounts. But the banks are probably all over their money, trying to have them as customers with good investment plans.

..but what sort of cash flow do they have now? Money in the bank is one thing, what you spend it on is another and how much comes in now is what matters.
