The Frenchman was open about his non-selection for the initial squad: "I didn't do anything this year, but Olivier Robert knows what I am capable of. He may be able to change the team."

Seems like Pourcel is heating up, but he may have left his run a bit late, barring an injury he may not get the chance

Back at the 1988 MXDN in France, the French had a B Team riding for Andorra, a small mountain pricipality between France & Spain. Wouldn't it be coolCool if the french could muster Pourcel, Musquin & Boog. They would stand a great chance of a podium!Wink

Musquin is already in the main French team.

He's playing a little like Barcia, spoiler at the end of the season and Stewart from last year, "Waw, I'm fast, wah. wah wah".
He needs to get over himself. No one can tell which Pourcel will show up on which day.

If he wins in Gaildorf or end up on the podium then Oliver Robert will change his team for that guy!!

The mxdn pays zero to the riders and the teams. Why would he want to race it? His interviews today seemed very politicaly correct with his choice of words. With 70% of the top riders out of the MX1 GP class he looks good. That is not reality.

I asked him the question about MXDN in Brit GP press conference. He said he was contracted to race the next two GPs and will let his results speak for themselves and hopefully get the Team manager to reconsider!

A lot of things can happen between now and the race. It is never a bad idea to let a coach know that you want to ride.

In ten years from now, Pourcel will look back on these times and wonder what could have been.............

Robert already stated that the initial team was not set in stone, and could be changed.

CP was asked that question after his win in the qualifier and again after coming second in the GP.. saying he had done nothing this year to justify his intial selection but he hopes these good results now will hopefully get him in the team... I fail to see the problem with that statement... it is totally accurate.

Musquin or Pourcel on current form? ... it should definitely go to Pourcel with Paulin staying in MX2...

the reality is the fact he beat everyone who was there in moto one, who out of the injured riders apart from clement has been able to beat frossard and tc this year, that was a good performance by any standard.Maybe he wants to do the des nations because its in his own backyard and he is patriotic you being an american should understand that surely

christophe looked very comfortable, smooth and fast on a very rough track! ive been saying it for a few weeks now- i knew he would come good in time for the des nations, on current form france have to pick paulin for the 250f ride (unless musquin starts winning races) with pourcel and frossard on 450s.

It would do christophes chances of securing a top factory ride (on either side of the pond) no harm at all if he got another gp podium then rode the des nations and battled with cairoli/dungey/ RV/ frossard etc. We all know he's capable of it- its a pleasure to watch him ride when he is comfortable. I think the way he's looking on that bike he needs to be on a kawasaki next season (whether its gp or ama)- be cool to see him racing for a pro circuit supported team in gps (cls) or in ama. This weekend was the best he's looked for a long time- and to say he only did so well due to all the injuries is ridiculous, he beat everyone in the first race- including cairoli and frossard. When he is on he can beat anyone

with a team of pourcel, paulin/ musquin and frossard i think france will win the des nations this year.

bobby and philleparts have on occasion been able to run with/ beat TC and frossard- but cairoli/frossard/desalle have been the main contenders for the majority of the season. Pourcel rode great this weekend- he is definitely back!!!! i think we will see more race wins from him before the end of the season and an outstanding performance at the des nations- if he can beat dungey or RV at the des nations then all the top teams in gps and ama will be falling over themselves to sign him for 2012

The first think it's gonna take is him to actually be at Saint Jean d'Angély !

Saturday, Marvin Musquin will be at Southwick and CP will race a belgian championship race.

Is Marvin fully OK from his hand injury ? Speaking from his results, he was closer to the top at Hangtown (coming back from the knee injury) than he was at Unadilla (coming back from the hand injury).

Depending on what will happen this coming week-end, Olivier Robert (the coach) will have a small window opened if he decides to make a change.

The French Federation has made this MXDN on home soil a huge priority and there is an above-normal pressure on Robert's shoulders.

He groomed CP thru the federation youth program years ago, he knows Christophe very well and was pictured yesterday alongside him on the starting gate.

If Marvin has a good showing in Southwick (and CP does good in Belgium), Olivier will have a serious headache to make up his mind.

Should be a thriller.

Frossard Pourcel & either Paulin or Musquin . it's the 250 class that will decide if they win or lose Unsure

The team has publicly said the roster could still change. It was said when they announced the team. Go hate somewhere else. We're talkin about someone rebuilding his career.

France is one of a few countries who actually have 4-7 guys to choose from.

We Americans have some real cocky riders as well.....so I don't hold that against CP. I just wanna see him get in shape and ride to his full potential. I think if he gets all the pieces of the puzzle put together , he can pretty much run with anyone in the world speed wise. It's his fitness he needs to concentrate on....and if he gets that....he will be a front runner any where. You are kidding yourselves if you don't think that is true.

Good to see him back at full-moto speed. The sport is better when the best talent are at speed on the track. His image doesn't affect me, that's his issue to deal with on the business side of things.

Are you basing that on what you saw during the U.S. MX season? Or how he's doing now?

If Musquin doesn't step up his game there is no way he should be in the team especially when Pourcel is winning, Frossard is winning and Paulin is regularly on the podium in MX2, with a best lap time only two tenths off Roczen in the second moto at the British gp, he is hauling... and he very nearly won the French GP at the same track earlier in the year.

If Musquin comes back to his GP speed however, it will be a huge headache for the team manager.
