I've come to the realization that I will never own another "brand new" bike again with the way prices are going.

When you consider the 2011 YZ 125 retails for $6250 and the YZ 250 2 stroke is $7150 that doesn't sound like a bad deal for the KTM 2 strokes.

Especially since when you by a yz you are just buying a new what 5 year old bike. Edit* Although I have to give them credit for atleast making them available.

The dollar has been weak over the past bit as well.

I don't think there will be a ton of deals on the new KTM smokers.

Don't know yet. The XC order period comes later. Most XC riders prefer the PDS so I think it will not be a link suspension.

Everyone is supposed to have orders done within 2 weeks. Bikes will probably be shipped in June.

The 300 XC is what I ride and I ride everything. MX, GP's, Harescrambles..ect. Its a vastly underrated MX bike. Dicks racing carb mods really wake up the top end on that bike and make it a better MXer..

The new clutch on the 450 is an interesting change. Uses a diaphram style spring and a steel basket. Supposed to be smaller and lighter. Its also on the 450/530 XCW's and they shaved 6 lbs off of that engine.

Strange the 450 costs more than the 350. They should be at least the same price? 450 no EFI, 350 lots of fresh R&D plus its the flavour of the month. It will be hard to sell 450s!

Well that is dumb. I guess you haven't heard. The 2 strokes are DEAD! (Joke)

Thanks for posting this info. KTM is seriously gonna kick some butt this year. I would love if they surpassed Honda in MX and offroad bikes. My friend would have to eat shit. Said, will never happen, said no one really wants KTM's.

One thing that peaks my interest. You said you are ordering heavy on 2 strokes. I know that other OEM's, kinda tell you what you want. LOL. SO does KTM actually fill your order, the way you like? I also wonder, if there were enough 2 strokes last year, how many more would have sold. Because when you are only 1/2 way through a season and there are 0 left, that says something.

The thing is, they are selling way way less bikes now. So I'm hearing, the pricing is too keep the amount of income they want for said bikes. KTM's are actually becoming more in line now. They were always high, because of dollar vs euro value etc. But they are pretty level now. That is good for them. Yamaha, 100% sure they should be selling that YZ250 for a lot less. It has no R&D for 6? Years now. That is just BS, robbing from the loyals. Just because they don't like the 2 strokes, doesn't mean they should screw the buyers of said bikes. If you take the decreasing cost of machines and 0 R&D etc that build those bikes, those should run MSRP around the $5,000 mark. Tell me that wouldn't sell a shit load....

You guys got it lucky.

In AUS try around $10'500 to $11'400 for any 250f

And around $11'000 to $12'000 for a 450

$10,500 for a 250sx in Oz, $10,000 for a 150sx and our dollar is killing the us dollar. i can actually get a ktm imported from the states cheaper than i can buy one from my local dealer.

you guys need to suck it up and realise how cheap bikes are over there

Got to keep in mind our prices include 10% tax and theirs still need the tax added which is different for every state. But still they are CHEAP compared to what we are use to paying. Same goes for riding gear, Fuel, food, cars

Edit: Probably should also state we get paid close to double what Americans get on average and we get free health care so all up we are probably better off over here. Our bikes may be cheaper relatively speaking. We want our cake and be able to eat it too lol.
