I have to agree with most people in this thread, i think Hansen is about done... He might get signed to a mediocre team this year, but nothing like the Monster/PC/Kawi team. I'm thinking more along the lines of Rock River Yamaha, or that caliber team.
What exactly is Kenny referring too?

But it doesn't matter anyway.

As far as Hanny being without a ride?

Mitch not happy with Kawasaki.
FMF launching and energy drink.
Monster enjoying working with Hansen.
Hansen showing great speed. (and a connection to the youth so cal tatted, flat billed monster demographic)

Dunno what will be up with Hansen results wise or how the internet will receive him but I do know he'll make in excess of $100k in 2012

Ben Evans was sick as a dog all week. He manned-up and raced the West final for points. He was hurting out there, but it paid off because he earned 10th overall for the series- the best finish for a non-factory supported racer in the West Lites.

So his sponors are not pissed, they are very proud of him. I saw him after the race and he hung around with his team until the truck was packed-up.

I thought Hasen did pretty good this year. Give him some credit guys. He would of won the championship with EASE if not for his hand.. He WOULD be a great 450 rider.

On the other hand, his take out moves are more the Barcia's passes. They are a joke. Do I think a 27 year old dude should be in the 250s? No. He should move up

Hanny is a good, borderline great rider on any bike. Only someone who just doesn't like him would say otherwise. But I think we've all seen he's not elite, he won't be breaking into the top very often even on a top team. And unless he's elite, I say there are other guys with better attitudes and track records I'd rather sign. Would you rather sign Metcalfe or Hanny to run 8-12th all year long?

Yes the hand kept him from winning, but who broke his hand? It's not like his buddy accidently crushed it in a car door. The guy went down on his own several times and not only broke it, but kept aggrivating it. Yes it's great he rode through the pain to try, but he certainly isn't the first guy to ride hurt. Barcia won a championship with a broken wrist, not little finger.

Hart and Huntington again? PC Kawi effectively ... little Monster sponsorship... Hansen is fast and would do good on a 450.

I had no idea that Mitch forces these guys to hit the road during the week and sell Monster. Hansen must be a hell of a salesman. Those other guys are clearly slackers. Do you have a link to their sales figures to back up this claim?

I could've swore that someone (Matthes or Weege...) tweeted that H&H had signed a big name guy again yesterday or the day before but now I can't find it...maybe they deleted it? Anyone else see that?

Anyway, this morning...

I guess you missed my point, entirely... My bad, I thought some of you guys here had the mental capacity to understand just some simple basics behind the accounting and marketing theory of company's sponsoring race teams. Again, my bad...

He cant win on a 450. Plain and simple. He has shown that. He couldnt even beat K-dub or any other American that came over for one off races in Oz. He would fill out the top ten, which is why he isnt going to get signed on to any decent team next year, unless he finds a way to race against the kids again in the half bike class.
I think moto fans are going to have to change their perspective as to what caliber of rider is worthy of a decent ride and paycheck in this sport-especially in the 450 class.

With the talent in the 450 class there are some very marketable and very fast riders on very good teams (factory teams even) "filling out the top ten". Short, Windham, Tedesco, Alessi, Millsaps, Brayton, Wiemer, grant etc. (that's assuming Villopoto, Reed, Dungey, Canard, and Stewart are the top five).

Finishing top 10 in the 450's these days is a HELL of an accomplishment, and one worthy of decent equipment and a decent paycheck. There can only be one winner, and 3 podium finishers every week. So every team isn't going to be able to have one of those three riders....but they will-or should-gladly pay for a top 10 guy.

If Hansen really is a top 10 caliber rider, then he should have no trouble getting a great ride and for a decent paycheck (I know short, alessi, windham, millsaps braytong and wiemer are getting paid and on good equipment.

Yep. You have a point but honestly, do you care about the battle going on for 9th? When you look at race results, how far down do you look? Do you remember off the top of your head who finished 7th, or 10th, or 15th this weekend? Heck, who finished 5th?

I'd like to see him come back from this, but i doubt Mitch will sign him again next year the way he's been acting lately.

Really?? Come on he's not the first and won't be the last. I know you probably don't watch basketball but I saw two guys who make 10 times more money then Hanny get flagrant fouls and ejected from the game because they couldn't take losing. I was disappointed but man I love the fact that it hurt them inside so much, same with Hanny, no one is perfect but I like that him and Stewart are disgusted in losing, that's passion. Hanny will have a ride, he's too good not to and there are too many guys who don't make the Mains or the show for that matter.

That was kind of the point of my first paragraph there. As moto fans we need to start caring about the battle for 9th, and who finish in the top 10. (When I attend a race live, I watch battles-wherever in the pack they are-I don't watch the top 1 or 3 ride around by themselves).

Of course the battles that matter most-that TV cares about-are for the win and the podium, and the riders capable of finishing there deserve to get paid the most....but there are more than 3 teams. And many of the teams are quality teams, who would-should-have no qualms about highing a consistent top 10 guy.

i would rather know there are guys who don't make the main but are there trying,In the gp's these days if you don't have the cash you don't have a chance to show what you can do,we have riders in the uk who could finnish easily top 15 in the gp's but as the money isn't there they don't get to try and show what they are about i would imageing its the same all over europe.loungo told us his plan was to have the cream of the crop but once past the top ten the talent drains away quickly.and we see guys lapping so slow they get lapped after 10minutes.As soon as you lose qualifing your in trouble.
