Same here.  My one and only ‘dilla   JoJo rocking the Bettencourt’s jersey. 

I went in 1984 and as a 14 y.o. I saw some of the most outrageous and sick human behavior as well as best riding and racing. What year did they outlaw Beer and alcohol at the gate?

You can see how awesome the track was back then, the bikes transformed the track, ruts in turns not the whole length of the straights…. Get off my lawn 😂

LOL,  on point.  Have been going since '78 and '85 was a good one.  Track a mere shadow of its former self these days.  Have to say I still enjoyed myself this weekend, despite the filled in start, manmade obstacles and no overseeding (Tall Grass) in practice.  More combed out rutty sections than actual bumps, but still love being there.

My first year there was '80(Jim Holley with his Can Am on the programme cover)... all you need to remember about Unadilla is "The Other Side Sucks"... seriously miss those good ole days. 

I was there. Loved every second of it.

How about some 1984…

Something I never thought to ask when I was watching these races back in the day; how were the US rider's numbers chosen for the USGPs?

I was at the 1984 event as a 14 yo without parental supervision. What I witnessed should not have seen by anyone. The best part was the racing but saturday night was chaotic. 

I was 16 at the time… it was unreal! The camping across the street from the track was a war zone, my brother made me wear a football helmet walking around… the big bon fires, burning vehicles, exploding porta potties…when you woke up Sunday morning for the race, there were casualties laying all over the place, many people did not even make it to the track to watch the race. 

Yep, the 84 GP was great. I was there with the old man....as a weird kid who liked weird bikes, I was all about Marc Velkeneers and his super rad Gilera 250....

After the last bike went by, my old man and I jumped the fence and grabbed this ktm track ribbon along the back straight...still have it. Holy F...gonna be 40 years. Wtf. 

I believe that the non GP #'s were assigned in order of received entries from the factories. Those 2 day weekends were stuff of legend.  On and off the track

500s! 

Were they used in a support class race at an Unadilla 250 GP, or is this from a national , or another GP?

This was a 250 GP. 500”s were support class, pretty sure #18 open Honda was Magoo”s bike…I think when he had “ Road Hog” on back of pants. Destroyed open class by a mile! Barnett #31 was also flying that day but I think his back brake stay arm came off from rear brake plate. #36 not sure, may be Fanton or Jobe? The track was epic, none of this rut o cross they have today…
