Watching a report on it now.  So glad he  got to do his reunion concert with Sabbath.  What a “unique” individual .

I don't really even listen to Black Sabbath or Ozzy, and I'm bummed.

That recent reunion was posted all over the rock and roll music accounts on X.

Not my particular taste in music, but damn, it sucks when we lose icons.

But hell, they're all getting up there.

My assistant is a MASSIVE Ozzy/Sabbath fan, it was the first concert he ever went to, so this news hit him hard. Like I gave him the rest of day off to mourn, hard.

I listened to an isolated vocal of his performance of Momma I'm Coming Home from his last performance. It was really moving - you could hear the vulnerability in his voice and the feeling that he put into the performance. https://consequence.net/2025/07/ozzy-osbourne-isolated-vocals-back-to-the-beginning/

Remind him that...

He struggled to make that concert happen...and now I think we can all understand just how much...and why.

He was...and achieved...and helped so many others...so much more...than a lot of people gave him credit for.

RIP Ozzy . You'll be missed .

Ozzy was an icon. His voice was like no other.  Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill WERE Black Sabbath. They tried with different singers and members but IMO did mot live up to that magic that those four lads had.

Ronnie James Dio was very good but to me it still wasn't Black Sabbath.

RIP Ozzy. You will be forever missed

I don't know...

He wrote and sang about the most evil pieces of shit on the planet with the righteous indignation that was required...

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerer of death's construction
In the fields, the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds
Oh, Lord, yeah

And that's an early example...he kept writing and singing about these very evil things and how they were no good for mankind.

Further to TeamGreen's post, people assume Black Sabbath was all evil and antagonistic to religion. Here's the lyrics to an early Sabbath song - from Master of Reality -  that's overtly pro Christian. Also, from the same album Lord of this World is about people implicitly choosing the devil by living a life full of greed and pride. Children of the Grave (same album) was a warning to abandon nuclear weapons, love each other and live in peace. I don't believe in God but if there is one, I don't think he'll turn Ozzy away based on his music.

Black Sabbath - After Forever

Have you ever thought about your soul can it be saved?
Or perhaps you think that when you're dead you just stay in your grave
Is God just a thought within your head or is he a part of you?
Is Christ just a name that you read in a book when you were in school?
When you think about death do you lose your breath or do you keep your cool?
Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope do you think he's a fool?
Well I have seen the truth, yes I've seen the light and I've changed my ways
And I'll be prepared when you're lonely and scared at the end of our days
Could it be you're afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
That God is the only way to love
Is your mind so small that you have to fall
In with the pack wherever they run
Will you still sneer when death is near
And say they may as well worship the sun?
I think it was true it was people like you that crucified Christ
I think it is sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced
Will you be so sure when your day is near, say you don't believe?
You had the chance but you turned it down, now you can't retrieve
Perhaps you'll think before you say that God is dead and gone
Open your eyes, just realize that he's the one
The only one who can save you now from all this sin and hate
Or will you still jeer at all you hear, yes I think it's too late

If aliens suddenly appear at my doorstep and ask “what is heavy metal”, I drop the needle on “War Pigs” and let the music do the talking.

Black Sabbath has been my favorite band for 40 years. If someone forced me to give up either Black Sabbath or all other music, I’d have to think about it. While “Paranoid” launched their careers, it was “Vol 4” that spoke to me most.

“When sadness fills my days,

it’s time to turn away

And let tomorrow’s dreams

Become reality in me…”

Yep. In a meeting with record company executives. Drunk and bored. Crazy stuff.

He also bit the head off a bat that someone threw onto the stage but he thought it was a fake rubber bat. It wasn’t fake and he needed shots for rabies.
