I agree. Dudes a scum bag, bad look having him on
Who was the guest? I’d rather not click on any of his videos, I feel like I get dumber every time I’ve ever watched them and I don’t have much intelligence left so I’d like to save what I can……
But he’s so sick, bro…lol
Agreed. Whatever merits his content and/or guests have are outweighed for me by the fact that I feel like I’m listening to Spiccoli, but without any of the humor.
No idea who this other person mentioned by the OP is, either.
Never heard of her
The Shop
Shit on him all you want he's gotten big names in mx to come on he must be doing something right.
Who is this Mikki guy and why does he matter?
These shows are just too long.
I Googled his name. He's not very popular on Reddit but who is? Lol lots of scammer and fraud accusations thrown around
So what? It doesn’t preclude him from being an annoying twit.
He’s also the same loser that Paige Craig posted a picture of asking if anyone knew who he was because he stole Jagger’s scooter at(I think) one of the Anaheim races from the husky pit.
I’d imagine a majority of the people reading this post won’t know who that guy is (myself included) but just like when Rogan has a polarizing figure on his podcast; most people don’t care and they will still continue to listen to the show.
We’re doomed
"Big names in MX" is an oxymoron.
I don't listen to all of them (depends on the guest), but I find them pretty good. With the right guest I'd rather a longer show that gets into some deeper issues and insights than 30 minutes of canned questions.
The Trey Canard and Jeff Emig interviews are two recent ones that are very worthwhile listening to.
Annoying as he may be, he still gets quality guests for a long period of time, I don't know I listen to the guests not him and the guests always seem to share more than I knew beforehand about the guest.
You seem to have a personal grudge against him you ok ?
I have a tip for you whinging Yanks and it is real simple I am surprised you haven’t worked it out for yourselves but then again the intelligence lacking in this particular thread is pretty clear. My simple tip is this……… If you don’t like Gypsy and his podcast don’t listen to it! It’s so simple even you floppas should be able to manage it.
Whinging Aussie here.
This is straight up advice coz I don't listen to it.
Edit: pssshht bro wtf bro
I don’t have a problem with Gypsy but I do have a problem with him giving this assclown a platform to perpetuate a false narrative. Someone feel free to prove me wrong on that. I don’t know why but I spent 10 minutes researching this. I’m going to keep this MX related.
Google says his real name is Michael Meiterman. This dude claims to have “raced Loretta’s every year.” Ok, bet:
https://llvault.racerxonline.com/rider/michael-meiterman/races
So either this record is incomplete or he’s lying. He raced it once and got 28th in one class in 1998. His brother Mark has records in there for ‘98 and other years, so I’m doubtful there’s more.
His most egregious claim about MX may be that “he won Mini O’s.” Due to the above, I am willing to go out on a limb and say he’s probably blowing hot and cold here. However, I was not able to find any results for Mini O’s precluding 2010.
Anyone have an old Mini Warriors tape to verify that he “was all over those” like he says he was?
He also says, “Zach Osborne’s dad owes [his] dad money for an engine rebuild”…
I’m done wasting my life on this shit lol.
Pit Row
Mikki don't lose that number...
I very much suspect he's completely full of shit.
Not a fan myself and no idea who that clown at the top of this thread is, but can’t deny Gypsy has put out some quality content. Somehow he actually gets guys to spill the beans more than the more respected pods do?
I was actually on the fence of enjoying his content.
Until recently. He did always talk about himself too much, but now that he’s a bit more well known it’s just never ending. Every subject a guest talks about, he has to make it his own. Just let them tell the story. Also really don’t get the paid content, there’s massive podcasts that are free everywhere.
He does get his guest to speak differently, which I enjoy. More open because it more feels like mates are talking instead of an interview.
Ever since Stew started his poscast I now listen to that and just little bits of Gypsy, unless it’s not a moto guest. Then I just skip it completely. Especially since he said something along the lines of “the moto industry is to small for me to grow”
Vanilla Ice was an amateur motocross champion too...
Outside of a couple clips early on, I haven’t listened to a single one. I also didn’t listen to this but YouTube recommended it so I saw it that way.
This mikki fool is all over social media acting like a pro gambler, has a super suspect and unproven backstory and has repeatedly taken a ton of money from people by conning them into believing that he has some secret to winning casino games. If you want a picture of how he acts pull up some hustler casino love clips. Dude is out there
Don’t recall seeing him on mini warriors and I definitely don’t see Osbornes dad needing to pay some random hack for an engine rebuild at any point in his career
You guys really need to add some more positives into your lives and utilize your time better than directing negativity towards others.
Maybe start your own podcast and link it here so everyone can offer feedback lol
I enjoy listening to some of his stuff. I stick to mostly the MX related guests. I was thinking about how he talks about himself and how it can get old since it is often the same thing. But then I was thinking, maybe that is one of the ways he gets his guests to be more comfortable and open up . Having them not feel like they are dealing with somebody that is trying to pry and get a big story. It might be a part of what gets his guests to let their guard down and talk more about some of the stuff they do.
Like when Your getting interrogated by the police , and they are trying to get you to relax and they start talking about the bad stuff they have done. And then You tell a story to out do theirs and next you're in the not fun style handcuffs. I think thats what hes doing. Overall his style works and gets some interesting info from the guests. I could do without some of his "me too" moments. But at the sametime, it gives it the feel of hanging out with an old friend or new friend at the track.
I'm sure that if people recorded everything they said, they would find out that they do a lot of the things that drive them crazy when it's done by other people. And they would also find out how often they miss speak and don't even notice it.
I would hope that Mr. Gypsy researches his guests to some degree. And since they seem to have been around a lot of the same people he has to know some stories about him. He did list Jlaw, Izzy and Stroupe as people around Mikki. And with all the stuff those guys have pulled its kinda a warning itself that he could be up to no good. If he has taken people's money claiming he has a system to win more, and is often not coming through. Having him on and letting him bragg about winning millions is going to make it easier for him to find victim's. So I can understand why the person who started this thread feels how they feel.
No real problem with gypsy, he does have a certain talent and he can get good guests and get them talking openly.
The flipside is people's complaints are often valid to be honest, but it is what it is, I'm not gonna roast him for it, but I get it.
As far as having some scumbag on, that's a different argument and beyond people just "being negative" towards gypsy tales. It feels like accountability and honesty is at an all time low and people like that are continuously given a platform (like Varner with MXA and so on, if we're talking moto specifically).
It bums me out a little that moto people by and large are good, hard working, family people with decent values and a love of bikes, and we (the collective we, like Gyspy here or MXA in the Varner example or more obscurely AJ *probably* stitching up a mini dad and GPF) will pander to these assholes and let them spread their bullshit and effectively promote it/them to others, that's pretty weak.
With regard to your last sentence - he’s not wrong. If you lined up every sufficiently interesting moto character from the last 40 years you’d barely have enough content to last a year or maybe two.
That’s not a disservice to motocross - it’s just reality of the size of the sport.
You don't wanna call nobody else
