Oz motocross points leader Kyle Webster is racing Southwick and Redbud. Will be interesting to see where he fits in.

I think he should be aiming for 8-12, doesn’t sound like there’ll be any testing pre-race though.
Also the JWR Honda team with Alvin Ostlund will race Southwick and Red Bud.

Hope he goes well. We really need a solid MX2 rider to back up the Lawrences. Especially with the way Hunter is going on the 450 this year.
Gally hinted at Webster being on the 250 in his interview with Matthes a few weeks. Sounds like it’s been discussed for a while. Wonder if it’d be.a HRC bike?

I agree, if the bike is half decent he should go 10th overall.
After all, sand is sand, Sol.
I'll call a top 5, the guy is ripping atm.
Be good if conolly came across as well.
Tom Guyon is also in for Southwick and Red Bud
Wouldn’t be a HRC bike, it’ll be a Firepower US bike.
I don't think you guys understand how good Webby is in the sand, he grew up in Western Australia which for those who don't know makes Southwick look like hardpack blue groove. He will be on a firepower bike so it'll be close to what hes been riding at home. I think he will shock a lot of people. I'm not saying he will win, but I think he will surprise.
For anyone wanting justification, look up I think it was 2019 mxon 250 class qualifying moto. Had some bad luck in the 2 main motos.
I was praying Jett would drop down to the 250 just to make it interesting lol
I don't know about that man. Honda is the dominant brand in the top-5 in the 250 class at the moment, I would say they are not doing too bad of a job backing up the 450 riders:

Damn, he got third in that qualifying moto. Didn't remember that at all. I do remember that Duffy was great that weekend
I think he's talking about Team Australia at MXoN.
The biggest thing is the amount of factory-level 250s he will be up against. In MX trim, there are at least 20 guys who will have "better bikes" than he will. Also, to your point, Southwick isn't a real deep sand track and doesn't flow well. Sand experience helps but is also slightly negated by how different that place is. Getting into the top ten will be a tough ask. If he were able to top ten a moto, after dropping down to a 250, having to beat at least ten faster 250s, with just a day or two of prep and flying across the world, I think that would be pretty impressive
If the Firepower rig is going to Southwick and Redbud, does that also mean Mumford will be racing?
By the way, I'm a HUGE fan of foreign riders coming over to do some nationals. It makes the racing just that much more interesting... plus fantasy if you are into that sort of thing.
They haven't announced so and their latest post with him is aboard a 450 just getting settled in at MTF, so I would doubt it.
Always good having another aussie to cheer on, a top 10 would be nice (Southwick not mxon)
Ah, that makes more sense. From what I have read from Ando, he knows what he is talking about so I was confused with the point. Knowing he is obviously pulling for the Aussies, that makes sense. Context lost, with this thread being about Southwick and Redbud, it is what I was thinking, I am sure you are right though.
Pit Row
He will be on 450 at southwick and redbud not 250.
I just figured that out. I totally miss-understood.
Yeah I was referring to our MXoN team.
Big mission for sure, Race at Murray Bridge Sunday, assume on a plane Monday, jet lag Tuesday and hopefully on a bike Wednesday and Thursday!
Cant wait to see how he goes coming off a round win this weekend and he was super fast at Manji with a fall on the last moto costing him the overall win.
Matt
I also didn't realise he was on a 450 at southwick.
So I'm upping the anti, an easy 7th overall, I hope.
DNQ. Webster to Canada
You can imagine my disappointment when I found out it wasn't this Webster.....
I’ve seen him a few times at AJS (Wanneroo, Western Australia) and he’s bloody incredible in the sand! AJS is one of, if not the, roughest, deepest and craziest sand tracks we have down here!!
Yep, my first thought when reading the title.
Did you ever get to a national round there? That sand was crazy deep at the end of the day!!!
Matt
7th would be a great result, but a big ask I think. Hope I’m wrong.
