Excellent team with well deserving riders.
Stocked for both AP and Hymas that really want to be there.
Hymas will be a good fit for a european track, just look at how good he rode at Unadilla that is the closest you get to Matterley.
Title contenders for sure.
Wishing everyone the best, I think this will be a good experience for Chance to see just how fast everyone else is, but also adapting to new tracks, and the pressure and everything else that comes with racing MXON. I really hope AP can handle the pressure and show everyone what he has been showing us all year.
The Shop
How’s Hymas in the mud?
He used to race off-road, so I assume he's pretty decent.
And have the best/smoothest style in the class in the US right now.
I agree, but the way he moves is elbows just looks weird to me, how high they are when he turns, he still has great style though.
Despite the chaos this is a team that can win on the right day. Anything less than a podium is a disappointment for me. I expect all 3 riders to be in contention to win their qualifiers. I was in favor of Tomac for the MX3 spot but the more I think of it AP should perform well in that slot. If he performs to his capabilities he can win the mx2/mx3 moto. Andrew Short and Tim Ferry are similar comparisons to him and they both performed well in the MX3 slot.
So was J Coop just not even considered for mx2? Star out on this year? I think hymas is a bad pick but oh well maybe he’ll step up to the pressure. Gut feeling is this is a 4th place team now.
They should have right of first refusal next year
B team for sure. 5-7 place finish if things go well.
Probably not as he has been full time 450 for basically a year now and it makes more sense to send a fast 250 rider who has been riding and racing the class all year vs. dropping a 450 rider down to MX2 who will only have a weeks time to prep after SMX. Plus it’s his rookie year so he is still getting used to a full 450 season. If we didn’t have Hymas or even Hampshire as an option, he may have been considered.
Cool. I hope they get on the podium.
MX1: There’s an argument that Chase is the number 1 guy at the moment.
MX2: Chance is a top 5 guy, could win the class on the right day. De Wolf is really the only consistent one in that class. Boom or bust in mx2 for us
MX3: who in MX3 is truly better than AP at the moment?
With that said, this team can win. If you do team to team comparisons, this team wins a lot of those on paper.
Hunter, Renaux, and Calvin(or Glenn) all are safe bets to beat AP in Europe. You know, the guys that are on the 3 strongest teams
I am truly excited for this team.
What time does Deegan race?
Pit Row
Bend over he'll show you
Well that’s not a very nice thing to say.
Im not a huge fan of this event. But beyond stoked for 3 guys that want to represent our country. Good luck team USA and kick some ass.
Not a hit on Cooper at all, but why would they consider a guy who doesn't race a 250 anymore when there's fast guys still in the class?
AP's performance was way under par at Redbud 2018 MXdN. Two options:
* That performance haunts him and he is determined to atone for it.
* That performance is more or less indicative of future performances.
We'll see how it goes.
I'll take the bet. AP beats Calvin or Glenn.
Great fo Chance. Man, I hope he kills it.
Straight up. The US needs to score around 17 points to win. Realistically best case, AP and Chase score a combined 8 points. Meaning Chance is going to pretty much have to finish top 5 in his motos.
That's a big ask. 5th overall against Herlings,Prado, both Lawernces, Gaser, Febreve and so on. It will be Chance
Congrats on the selected riders.
As a person who enjoys Deegan I'm pretty disappointed, I really hope the decision is not made by Haideen/Brian due to it doesn't make money because I remember Brian talking about going to Europe to race but Covid got in the way.
Sexton said it best, if you available and you don't go this year but wil sign up next year you shouldn't be allowed.
That is a good point. Based on past performances though, I think he should always be in consideration. 250 or 450.
Worst score gets dropped. Send it in both and hope for something special in one of them. Not unrealistic at all.
I wish Deagan was going…Chance isn’t as fast as him, and that will hurt at the race…outside of Tomac, I don’t know of anyone better than AP…he’s underperformed at this race a time or two…but I don’t think anyone is more excited to be there and nobody will try harder than him…
A podium would be awesome! Top 5 is the expectation…any lower than that and it’s a bad weekend for this team.
Renaux Has style and technique for days. He’s real fun to watch.
Having said that, AP can beat him on a given day. You just never know what’s about to happen with MXdN.
I think there are more teams in the hunt this year. It will be exciting to watch.
