Curious on some of y’all’s offseason thoughts. This isn’t intended to be a negative bitch and moan thread but Something just seems off this year.
This is the first year in over 2+ decades that I’ve kinda lost interest over the off season. For some reason I feel like things are getting stagnant for the for the first time in a while. Yeah I check vital and x every day, listen to all the pulp pods and some of the others… looking forward to A1 etc… but this is the first year where I didn’t even watch the pirated clips of the off season races, follow the results, obsessively watch vlogs etc…
I feel like in the 450 class, we have Jett vs 8+ guys who are in their last 1 or 2 contracts seasons.
Only 450 news we have Prado (which we knew about for months) and Webb to FLY.?
I’m excited about the 250 class but eh…
All the interviews seem like the same questions and answers year after year.
Sounds like you’re growing up chap.
Ya. I feel the same way. However the ktm deal adds to the drama. Forkner racing the triumph is a fun topic. Can Deegan get a regional sx title.? Its the little things that keep me somewhat interested.
Can Forkner survive a season?
Can Deegan win an sx title, how has his technique changed?
Does Eli get more than one win, and does he have any off nights?
Does Prado get a podium or even a top 5?
Can Prado survive the season?
How many wins does hunter get, if any at all?
Why hasn’t mitch announced what coasts his guys are riding?
How does Craig do and how much does the knee/elbow effect him?
Does JCoop get some podiums?
How many wins does Webb get?
Does Kenny get a win?
Can chase beat jett when both guys are healthy?
kinda there with you - It just seems like everything is accessible these days with little suspense - so much content that’s it overwhelming and the amount of negativity in the content is exhausting. These days - I guess I just try to ride/race more and worry less about people I don’t even know.

This is just the boring part of the off season. Were far enough along that everyone has been at their new spots for a while, ppl are just grinding it out getting ready, and nobody can really tell you anything you dont know.
That being said theres plenty of great story lines going into this season.
-Tomac looks as good as ever now that hes a year removed from injury. Hes not treating this as a farewell tour and is ready and prepared to win races and believes he can win it all. He could.
-For all deegans hype he still has never won an sx championship. Theres no guarintee hes gonna win this one either. Hes been crashing a lot, and been crazy fast, it really could go either way.
-Prado is a massive wildcard. He could be a 10th place guy, he could be a top 3 guy. Hes good enough. If he gets good starts he could surprise ppl.
-Forkner is on a new brand and has changed everything. Every time he comes back hes fast as hell and runs up front. He could easily come out swinging and this could be the change he needs.
-Kitchen wasnt the best in mx but in sx last year he was mopping the floor with guys the first half of the season. He could go on a run again and make this hard for deegs.
-Even tho jett won the championship last year he didnt dominate. Lots of other guys won races and he never strung a bunch together. Ppl act like he went perfect in sx. Webb was right behind him in points until the last rounds.
Just gotta get through this last week and then itll be on 🤟
A two stroke class would get me excited.
- I believe he got exactly what he needed, Mitch stuck by him until he realized it was best for Austin to just try something new. He will finish the season, and he is going to battle with Deegan for the West regional SX championship. Hot take? Idk. His speed has never been an issue, ever.
- Short answer, Deegan is the favorite.
- Eli has had off nights every year of his career, that will be no different in 2025. Only question is will his off night be a 6/7 or a 11/12.
- Prado doesn't get on the podium in SX but he does a top 5. Outdoors he will battle with Jett so long as he is healthy.
- Good question, I don't know how injury-prone he was in MXGP.
- Hunter will get a couple wins, no doubt.
- When has Mitch ever once announced which coasts guys are riding?
- Christian Craig will be an also-ran just the same as his 450 career has always been.
- JCoop will get some podiums outdoors.
- I think Webb will win 3-4 races.
- I think Kenny is solid to get one win again.
- Depends on starts. Straight up 1-2 start Jett will beat Chase because he is better with his bike. I see Chase on Kawasaki in 2026.
There's less hype I guess due to we know how it will go if the favorites are healthy all year.
That being said nothing is certain in this sport, we will be surprised how things unfold like every year.
I don't see Jett running away with anything this year. Tomac will be strong. Chase, Kenny, Webb, Hunta' can win races. Prado may do better than expected. It may be an all out brawl for the 450SX and MX championship.
My $$ is on Tomac for SX, and an all out battle for 450MX.
In the 250 class, it's going to be fun.
If Forkner can avoid injury, he has the speed to challenge Deegan. The championship is up for grabs.
I expect this to be an awesome season!!
The Cody Gragg 2-st MuddyCreek race is Oct 10-12. Big 33k+ purse that 1 isa way out. Good warm up for it is Wi. 2-st & 125 class , Millville, a few extra money 125 & 2-st class races b4 that . Pro am races r Great especially the big1s ,with big payouts . Pastrana,s race & Ap7 has his own pro am race in Chillicothe Ohio &he kicks10k in the Cody Gragg memorial 2-st race. There’s pro am races going on rt now. SX is too much drama & too expensive now. . Riders traveling all over the country racing pro ams to get 60 points is a lot more exciting to me. Up and comers to past national champions to vet riders.
The sport is over saturated with media coverage, gone are the days of sitting in the edge of your seat to see who won last weeks race this Sunday
Also the original 125 dream race weekend at the end of August in Washougal every year I think this will be the 14th or 15th year
I think we all get so much news / info on a daily basis there are not secrets or surprises to jolt or interest us. Its just the world we live in now. The KTM demise came out of the blue and has been quite interesting. As for racing, I do not think anyone expects an surprises, Jett and Haiden domination, which will be cool, but expected and no surprise.
I have 2 big interests.. Mx and sx and hunting. I also like college football, more so than NFL.
Between those things they have me locked into something during the whole year. Hunting ends around the time supercross starts up and motocross/now SMX ends right when college football is starting up and archery season starts.
I kind of agree though. I've been on vital a lot less these past 3 months than in the past.

Bro, we could be good friends. I'm in the same boat. Family, MX, SX, Hunting, CFB. Life is good. Lots to look forward to. Happy new year!
