Not sure how they looked on the broadcast but they looked good in person and it was cool to see them switch over right after a pass for the lead, seems all the contenders bikes had them ready.

Track and weather ended up being awesome, huge turnout. Traffic leaving the track was a disaster though.

Lame IMO.

Roczen didn't have them when he was leading IIRC.

I waited an hour before leaving and it still took 30 minutes to get to 85

i like them better than the lights flashing on the track when the leader passes by,  Needs to be on all the bikes though.

I noticed Turquoise on Sextons lower fork clamp and Flo green on Shimodas. Thought it was weird reflection ? The lights explains what we were seeing.  Thanks AMetts.

I'm pretty sure Jett's lights turned on at one point even though he was far from the lead.

They're still in testing so i think they had a few glitches. The fact is that those lights aren't there for anyone into moto enough to be on this forum. They're for the casual fans in the building who were too busy posting on TikTok to see who got the holeshot.

Once lappers come into the equation it can be hard to see where the leader is and sort out whos battling who. I'd like to see a green light for the leader and red ones once riders go a lap down. Would make live viewing easier for the more casual fans

Probably because Ken doesn’t have a battery to power the things.

The leader should have a laser beam activated so he can vaporize the lapper in front of him with the push of a button..

In other words...dumbing down the sport for those who won't be around next year.... or probably the next race for that matter.

Is it really "dumbing down"?  It's a barely noticeable glowing light that (theoretically) is only visible on one rider's bike at a time.  Seems pretty innocuous to me.

The series promoters are doing anything that they can think of trying to get the younger viewers to stay interested in the sport. Racing is hard to compete with the overstimulating games these kids play today. Shorter triple crown races, double / triple points leader lights.

... and they will continue to fail.

Lights are not going to draw/keep anyone new.

Idk how you get pissy over lights on a fork tube Grinning

I liked them, I think it’s a cool idea. It’s easy to lose the leader in a SX event when you’re in the stands

You sir…know how to grow the sport.  SuperMotoDeathCross!  Trademark….me….but I will cut you in on the trademark profits….as long as you take the legal liability on your side.

I took 10 people to the Denver Supercross that had never been to one and didn't even know who Eli Tomac was.  The leader lights would have helped a lot because otherwise by the 4th lap they were just watching bikes on a track.  If I hadn't been pointing out the leader they would have never known.  Although there are corner lights that do tell you who is leading, I think the leader fork lights could add something positive to a sea of bikes on the track.

I also think number plates and numbers should be bigger.  I used to say, hey watch number 4.  But now you can barely read the numbers because they are so small.  Eli Tomac was really easy to point out because he had the red background.  Same with Jett, but otherwise I could not read their numbers clearly.

Dude you are such a clown, you literally shit on everything. Why are you even on this forum? You add absolutely nothing and yet you post in basically every single thread

Thank you for the pyscho-analysis...clearly you know me to the core by reading my opinions on some subjects.

I think I'll just go kill myself now.

I think the lights are more for the in person spectators than the broadcast, they are following the leaders easily on the broadcast for the viewers at home.

When I was watching the race I would watch the leaders come by then sort of scan around other parts of the track looking for some other battles and riders. Towards the ends of the motos and everyone is mixed together the lights kind of made it easy to scan back over the track and find the leader again. Especially when you have 4+ Star and PC bikes.

My brother in law doesnt really watch SX and came and asked what the lights were and I figured they implemented what they did with Phil earlier this year and he thought it was a good idea and it helped.
