Has anyone had any experience riding with the JBI Titanium Pro Perch modification in their forks? Seems like a very innovative piece. I believe it is his 3rd design. Likes? Dislikes?
JBI Titanium Pro Perch KYB Showa WP
Thanks for posting this. Just got off the phone with JB & I’m going to have him build a set forks with this new set-up for one of our Hondas (CRF450X for SCORE racing).
👍🏼
I have JB’s revalve with pro perch on my ‘21 CRF450RWE and it was great. He’s easy to get ahold of and talk to about what changes you would like to see.
I’m looking forward to having him do my ‘26
bought one for my 24 yz450f, great product, you don't even notice it until its time to work. the bike felt exactly the same suspension wise, except when i overjumped something it felt like the last 3 inches of travel when you are waiting for the metal on metal bang, never came, it just got really stiff but totally manageable.
wrist saver for sure, highly recommend the bottoming resistance it provides. not sure you'd notice it much if you don't ride the track often.
I had JBI's pro build which includes the perch on my last RMZ 450. And I have them in KYB converted WP fork. JB is awesome to work with and as the previous poster said they help at the extreme end of the stroke mostly, at least that's where I notice it. IF you like to jump, well worth it and I would recommend JBI to anyone.

Thanks! Did you have the latest version or one of the previous versions? The designs are very different. Did you also use his fork oil volume spacer?
100% believe in his stuff as they did my forks and posted a Youtube video on the work
The latest version. Like everyone said, you only notice them when you don’t feel the fork bottom. Wrists are much happier with them in.
I originally considered them for my 6500s, but he didn’t have them in a shorter length for the Husky forks.
Anyway, would you tend to set up the forks a bit softer knowing they have the increased bottoming resistance?
Long time lurker, first time poster. Give me the noob bit if you want, guys...
I've recently done the Ti Pro Perch (did the full JBI DIY kit) in a set of Beta KYBs, and as mentioned above the bottoming control is excellent. These are an improvement over the Pro Perch 2.0 versions I had in a set of WP-CC forks. No comparison on the bottoming side to my other set of KYBs that Bryce at Beta did an amazing job with. The Factory Beta forks are plusher overall, but that was by design. I did the JBI setup with more of an MX lean to the setup.
The only forks I have had with better bottoming control were MXT Lucky Carbons with the Huck Valve setup.
Was honestly just preparing my wallet to burn and buy MXT Ravens but SO glad I did the JBI setup instead. I do have the MXT National shock paired with the JBI kitted KYBs.
I have only ridden them so far on hardpack MX/GP and whooped out single track. Two clicks compression on the forks between the two different locations and they were dialed. OJs on the track and unseen square edges in the whoops were nice and smooth.
Will be testing them in the desert while prerunning the Parker 400 to get the setup dialed in. Will use the RX with the JBI setup at the Mint in March.
Not necessarily softer valving, but you can run lower oil volumes for initial plushness and still have the bottoming resistance as if you had higher oil volumes.
I have been very satisfied with the Titanium Pro Perch on my 19 YZ450 for motocross and off road/hare scramble riding.
As others have said, your wrists will thank you. In my application specifically I appreciate running lower fork oil level and still having plenty of bottoming resistance.
I also have had JB spring/revalve my current '24 yz250f with the added new style spring perch/bottoming cones. Overall happy with this setup, and it really helps my confidence knowing I can mis-time something and go a little long or short and be ok.
My previous '22 yz had the full Enzo setup with his spring perches. That setup was amazing for bottoming control but overall a tad stiffer everywhere compared to my current JBI spec. Not better nor worse, just different.
This could work for some but all testing videos are from smooth flat tracks without even braking bumbs. Even our kids track is more rough than those tracks so lets give Keefer set to test when track is little more used and see how he likes them?
It must be tough in the suspension revalve business these days. A number of riders thought it made a noticeable difference, and then a couple of suspension guys with no direct experience with the innovative part, itself, come on line to suggest that it is a gimmick and the improvement is probably all just in the rider's heads. Who is to say, but one would guess that the parties with direct experience with the innovative part probably have more credibility.
This is the component being discussed. It looks like a good amount of machining and assembly. $300 retail doesn't seem out of line.
JBI used to be in AZ some years ago before they moved to California and we have another suspension tuner from AZ that seems to be bad mouthing the competition. Like I said, I have no idea how well they work and was just looking for some real world opinions without bias. Here are some reviews of the old 2.0 version of the perch, as well as some Vital posts on the latest version;

Lots of confusion.. spring perches make a really big difference. I’ve used them back to back with OEM perch’s.
OEM perches, like valving are “soft” and largely don’t affect damping too much. If they were “tighter” they can give harshness to the midstroke. The JBI perches are different from the SDi and other fixed port perches in that they’re variable port and adapt to force. If you wanna say anything in this thread it can’t be that perches don’t do anything and it can’t be that the JBI ones are the same as others. They do a ton for oil control.
The one thing I’ll say is that some of this seems counterintuitive. I’d prefer low speed motion to have large ports and high speed to constrict and not the other way around.
I think he does good work and has good ideas. All the vids and stuff from JBI seems to make sense to me... I ve done a lot of mid valve mods over the years to get the TC forks to work for off road (flow much more oil, spring rates etc). JB talks about this stuff and really seems to understand how forks work and what does what inside a fork.
Pit Row
Good observation.
As someone that has everything from Pro Circuit to Race Tech to Factory Connection and in-house WP, Showa and KYB goodies…all of which are amazing…
I’ve had work done by JB…and his work is stellar. His in-house hardware is “Kit level”…and…he’ll work with you…after the fact…to get it right.
When you see him at the track? He comes over and sees how things are going and helps with input and knowledgeable adjustments.
I had an RMZ with extremely nice suspension revalved by someone-else…and it wasn’t cheap…and it had thier decals allllll over it…didn’t matter…JB is who helped me get it set right…and it took some time.
He’s all about The Ride.
And he’s jus’ a good dude.
Well said.. And he has solid ideas for parts that improve performance
Opposite for setup of some of the others here, went from ravens/national to 7548/8950. I converted from cones to shims and ran the jbi pro perch setup. It's definitely noticeable if you can run them back to back on same track, and especially if you are on an in between setup for moto/offroad. It helped make it predictable on both sides for myself. At least for WP, it's pretty quick and easy to change out and run comparisons, good quality machining and precision fit too.
no matter what forum or social media comment section you go to from rc cars, trucks, cars, mx, auto detailing etc. … there is always that one guy that comes in and just can’t help himself to be negative and a total cock knocker about things … i don’t get it, i really don’t understand the psychology behind this behavior pattern.
Don't they make speakers ?...oh wait that's JBL.
They are unhappy and want attention. These platforms give them a place to get that attention.
He appears to have left the chat.
I have them in my 2022 KX450SR KYBs and love them. Currently installing his pro kit in my 24 KX Showas. I'm stumped a bit as the base valve assembly was unscrewed and the compression vavle is stuck in the chamber. The forks have 2 hours on them and this is the first time apart. I think I saw someone else with this issue, but can't find the posting.
Sounds like a loctite issue.. do you receive them assembled from JBI or did you assemble the internals? probably best to call JB directly and get his thoughts.
Sounds like these provide the same results like the Enzo subtanks that we used in the early 2000’s
This is the first time they've been apart. I took them off after the first ride so they've been sitting for 2 years.
So you decided you loved them after only one ride, but you took them off anyway after your first ride and never used then again for 2 years??
