Would be some epic racing. Seems though that 2024 outdoors is no certainty for Tomac.
I think we see glimpses of beast mode from Jett in the first lap or two then he dials it back. Jett's starts are outrageously consistent; Tomac's not so much, so likely Tomac would be coming from behind more often than not.
don't think we will see this happen for a long time.. Cant see Jett getting terrible starts this season or having to race against a stacked 450 field in MX for a long time.
How long until we see a stacked 450 class? most riders are on the tail ends of their career. having 2 riders in the premier class under 27... Even if all injured riders are their, they will still all becoming off injuries. take Tomac out and it still really isn't stacked.. plus WSX taking outdoor riders.
Remember when he put like 1:30 on Dungey? Shit was bonkers. He was absolutely flying that season until the crash.

I think Sexton is gonna break the perfect season up, this break should have really helped him. I think Jett is an amazing rider but he isn’t unbeatable. He has been but it’s not a permanent thing haha.
It's funny how the conversation has moved from whether Jett will win the title to whether anyone can break the win streak.
I think that will be the hot topic for future years - who can actually come out on top of Jett over the course of a championship. Sexton is the obvious contender but there's a question mark over his crashing and the move to a new bike.
If Tomac decides to race outdoors 2024 he would be the most likely other contender, although age is starting to work against him.
Realistically there's no-one else in the current 450 field - just about all the other big names are near or over 30.
Who's going to move up from the 250's? Hunter obviously; Cooper as well although he hasn't done anything to suggest he'll be a threat on a 450. Deegan seems like he's got potential but he's going to be in 250's for at least another 2 years you'd think.

i can see jcoop doing well on the 450 oudoors ...didn't look too shabby in a limited SX appearance...
he gave jett some problems on the 250 as well........?
hunter will have plenty to give on the 450 next year as well....so we cld see 5-6 guys fairly competitive in 450 SX circa 2024.

How many overalls has J.Coop won in MX since going pro? and what was his AVG finish in SX for his limited time?
Chase was faster than Eli quite often last year and is getting dominated right now. People either don't realize or forget the fact that Jett has not ridden at 100% effort a single time this season, as he has said himself. I believe he would have to ride at 100% to beat Eli at his best, but would more than likely start ahead of him and be able to control the race from there, based on what we've seen.
Regardless, I think this will go down as a historic matchup that never was, and it's a huge shame. I hope 2024 SX is as good as it's shaping up to be.
24 SX should be good Tomac, Lawrence brothers, Webb, Kenny, AC, JA, JB and many more. If Jett dominates SX like MX he really is special

Jett's looking to wrap up his third national title at nineteen years old, by the time he's 23 he'll have had shots at another 8 national titles. Unless he catches the injury bug, it's unrealistic to think he'll only win one or two of those.
Technically Jett has already beaten Tomac on a 450 as well.... MXDN last year
But in all seriousness A1 is already looking to be an almighty round with everyone waiting with baited breath as to what happens
He turns 20 today (August 9th). By the time he turns 22 he will have had 2 x SX seasons, 1 x full MX season and nearly another MX season.
I was thinking (conservatively) if he wins two of those four he'll be at 5 in total at 22. Maybe a more likely scenario is he wins 1/2 SX and the next two 450 MX titles - that will give him 6 titles and just turned 22. Of course anything can happen but if it's business as usual hard to see any current rider topping him over a full outdoor season. SX is a bit more of a wildcard - we haven't seen him race SX on a 450 yet and there's a few more SX only or SX specialist guys that should be competitive - Webb, Roczen, Anderson, Tomac.
Edit - 6 titles would put him equal 8th on the all time list with Hannah, Glover and Stanton, and only two away from equal third with McGrath and Dungey. Not saying that's going to happen but damn if he isn't in a better position to have a crack at the all-time records than anybody for a long time.

Just curious, do you have a connection to the Lawrence camp? You're always super quick and on the case with the Jett stats in any relevant thread.

The only connection I have is their hometown is about an hour’s drive from mine.
I do like stats, I’m an engineer! I’ll readily admit that I lost interest in US SX/MX after Reedy’s career started to decline. The Lawrences have rekindled my interest, and especially so that Jett is on track to be the greatest ever MX/SX rider that Australia has produced.
Crazy how different riding fast looks between Eli and Jett. Eli is an animal in this, on the limiter just hammering. Amazing.

Read social media,plenty new bandwagon fans all over. They all appear when a guy is winning. They havent been on a sx mx website for. a long time,all of a sudden they appear. A lot a sports have those types.
Following the progress of some local badass(es) makes sense to me, fair play 👍
I've got precisely zero desire to see something unfortunate like a bike issue or something stupid like getting tangled with someone else get in the way of his perfect season, but I'd definitely welcome a challenge from Chase or whoever else if they could muster it, purely for racing's sake and I'm excited to see Eli back.

I'll openly admit I dig what Jett is doing and how he's doing it. Having said that...if he and Eli did get it on...I'd be stoked no matter who won cause I know it would be a battle royale.
The supercross that most resembles an outdoor motocross race, in a year Dungey won the championship!
