We don’t have to tell Star, Yamaha should tell them that they have missed an opportunity to show their wares in front of 100,000 Moto fans and the online viewing. Marketing ways it’s a no brainer. I’m with anyone who thinks that the teenage millionaire and his own brand sensitive entourage figured getting smoked by some kids his own age is a bad look on them.

I really don’t get the US obsession with money, especially in sports.

Sunday tickets were $115 euros for adults, $50 euros for kids, and $30 euros for pit pass. FIM could have easily taken $5 from each ticket sold to add into the purse. 102K attendance x $5 each ticket added into the purse = $510K purse. Split it up evenly, everyone can get paid better than the joke it is now. FIM can sacrifice $5 a ticket when it seems they aren't putting barely any of the money back into the purse.

worried is stupid description of the narrative at hand. I’m not worried at all if you guys send your best riders or not. I do despair at the country with most lucrative MX industry puts dollars before sport. Thankfully there is USA competitors like Simone Biles in other arenas so us Euros can realize it’s just a mindset within the MX fraternity.

Real question: Who pays for the team, bikes and salaries just to attend an event for 1 rider? Because last time I checked the teams have to fork over $70K+ and the rider still has to pay about $15K. Its a lot of money just to attend 1 event. What's the purse? I've never heard what the payout is other than pride.

I don't know where you got these numbers from ''the last time I checked'' but I suspect they're complete bollocks.

Here's the entire budget for Team Canada, based on 15 personnel, and which was entirely funded by the excellent fundraising efforts of their federation.

The fundraiser was organized by the team manager.

Edit: She was at most if not all the rounds of the Canadian nationals selling merchandise.

Wow I thought they worked for the Canadian federation, that's even more impressive.

I hope they can muster up the same commitment for next year given the appalling luck they had at Ernee.

I think everyone involved including the team manager will be extra motivated in getting us to Matterley Basins next year.

I don't see how budget is relevant to results.

Using that way of thinking, maybe if the US had spent even more money they would have won the event.

much ?......i would say world champions, but of hipocrisy.....

who paid star and honda to go race an extra race that doesnt count for nothing, last year ????, how much did Tomac, Sexton and Cooper were pa[d to race that race and by whom ???? what did any of the riders or teams had to gain last year that they didnt have this ????.......

some years ago there were no problem founding a us mxdn team, they won all over the world, not even claiming the race to be in us, they would show the world how great us racers were and how proud their fans were.......then the others got better and better, doing, what was said by the americans, to be all wrong( youthstream and infront), while americans put everything on supercross and start to go "fancy", fancy teams, fancy tracks, fancy training facilities.....and with that they started to lose the grit and the core of motocross, kids dont have a championship to lear how to manage races, with diferent conditions one after the other, they get too picky, they only ride good in perfect conditions......they dont even ride in the rain anymore !!!!!!!!

so now it is a huge financial and logistic problem to race mxdn for usa, if its not at a american "fancy" track, and then we see all those excuse as if we were all stupid and dont understand what is going on.....

i quit givivg opinion on what should change in usmx, i quit having to deal with all the short-minded rednecks, being ofensive and rude, just because i pointed out something not done the best way.......now i just enjoy all the big opinion maker of america going back and forth with excuses, even stupid ones sometimes, counter-saying even themselves, to protect a "status quo" where motocross is 2nd tier to fancy stadium races for city fans

the truth is 2023 MXdN was huge, great to watch , with all local champions from all over the world fighting for the win, including all north america, and every one of them racing proudly for their nations glory .......as i said before the race, this race doesnt need the usa team anymore, so let them with their illusions, like calling Deegan a world champion, and with their "fancy" racing, that i enjoy to watch too, while the real world of motocross will rest a bit and then get ready for 2024 to be an even better year all together......

Had to do some research. Do it for pride, not the money. But its hard to do that when we're talking $100K per team just to attend and they get nothing in return. $3420 Euros to share for the winning TEAM, that's it. Its literally a charity race. I can't believe I never knew MXdN had worse payout than most local races. And we thought the AMA was cheap on payouts...FIM has the biggest cheapskates.

FIM-MXON-PAYOUT.JPG?VersionId=meaCF

With 102k in attendance at $100/ticket, that's $10million.

The purse should've been much, much, higher.

It seems the riders' national pride is being taken advantage of.

Am I wrong?

They were going to support Cooper before the MXdN date was changed.

Ferrandis asked the team of they would support him if he was chosen to represent France, and they said yes.
