Good match for him.
I would agree. Ryno sent those other guys out there and they blew themselves up trying to go faster. Austin already has the speed.
Absolutely, Forkner has not been able his own speed perhaps with some work on some technique he will become a safer rider for himself, anyway great approuch as you said hes had the speed, going back to basics will help him, as he mentioned in the video if you go to a safe groomed wide track you can form bad habits or leave practice day thinking you did well when really it was the track.
Hell yeah. He worked with some guy named Eli in his early years, I think I heard he did pretty good. Also he was with J Law when he smoked Dungey and won the ‘08 west coast sx title. Good stuff.

good move ....AF needed to change something!
too much time injured in between blazing track speed............
He has worked with Reynard for a long time…maybe something in the okie water…
Hell yes! Hoping to see AF kicking some ass ASAP!
This popped on my YouTube feed and was intrigued so I watched it. Ryno has a simple way of teaching with simple drills and good insight into the why he's teaching the things he does. I hope Forkner can gain some knowledge and come back swinging with better technique without loosing any raw speed.
He needs to fix his technique asap. Jett & AJ where talking about technique- body position etc. once you hv it down it makes riding so easy, I couldn’t agree more. Jett mentioned Forkner,s chicken wing . He drops his rt elbow down& in. It’s matter of time & your going down. I saw it his 1st ride after his knee injury
Hope this change in trainers works out well for him. So many guys get comfortable with the same thing for years. Like Austin and Reynard he needed a change. Or Jordan smith and mtf he needed a change. So many guys lose years of their career instead of changing it up. Best of luck to Austin
Say what you want about Ryno. Most of it is deserved but he’s been talking about the way all the guys are riding now for a long time.
Bro. You couldn't be more vague, give us something to think about.
Ass out, flat back, balls of the feet, feet on the pegs.
He’s different and out there on a lot of issues but he’s good at conveying how to ride a motorcycle.
I thought Forkners technique was just fine 2 Sx seasons ago until the guy with “perfect riding style” took him out 30 ft in the air.
one of the biggest jokes in this sport is when a guy like AJ critiques riders who lap him multiple times in a 20 minute race
Yet here you are critiquing his technique.
Famously, every coach must be better at the immediate moment than the person they’re coaching, or else it doesn’t count.
Early season rumours were saying he was going to race 450mx. Is that still the plan?
Pit Row
Love it when I work on turn tracks for hrs & then go right back to my same mistakes when I race…😂…. Pulling for Forkner to get his career back on track… what’s up with his grips? Doubled up?
My buddy who raced some nationals and supercross said those techniques actually work pretty good for helping with strength and balance.
At least we know he won’t be crankin the hog, ryno hates that shit
Your ignorance is showing. AJ’s riding style is very very good. He’s also able to teach it very effectively. It’s a rare combo to have someone in the top .1% be able to explain how to ride a bike and not just do it.
Good point. It's...for the most part, "those that can...do, and those that can't...teach" in practically every arena.
Being able to do, and teach...and effectively explain to others, is probably like you said...1% or so.
Hope this works out for Austin. I've critisized him more than once...but if he can learn to keep himself off the ground, maybe he can live up to expectations.
Ridiculous take. The majority of great coaches in basically every sport on the planet did not play or almost never at a high level.
I’m excited for his return and hope he can stay healthy. The sport is better with Austin in it.
So many coaches in here. I just enjoyed the video and the teachings that ryno has to offer. Balance drills, technique drills, momentum drills…. All of that is A+ and needed at every single level especially the pros.
Don’t know why, but it seems like an unconventional but great match to me.
Well i wonder if this come from Mitch as Mitch wanted DV12 to train Austin for 2023 (finally the schedule didn't match for DV) but anyway it's a change of scenery for him, it was needeed !
Dv would have been good for Austin.
There is a match made in heaven, Forkner and Hughes. This one is worth the entertainment value alone.
