So what are the chances that Suzuki will finally update their bikes?
Anyone hear anything on this?

0%.
Too be honest. Its a sharp bike already. If they can add electric start and more low to mid range HP without messing up the feel of the chassis I think that would be sufficient. The bike turns and handles really well and Factory Connection has great suspension set up for that bike.
But there is 0% chance they do anything. We would have heard of something leaked way before now. it Stinks

Hasn't Keefer stated several times to expect a new/newer design for 2024? Weight loss, Hydraulic clutch, E-start, etc at least?

He did hint at it at one point but it’s been crickets for a year
I’ve heard from a few places that a new bike is coming for 24, but have zero proof of it actually happening. I’d like to see the effort from Yellow, but at the same time you can’t beat the price and I’m not one of those guys begging for E start. I like the reliability of the kickstart and the bike starts so damn easy I see zero need for E start.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they stop making dirt bikes.
I agree with this. I am a die hard Suzuki guy but I think we’ll see them completely step away from the sport before we see any major updates to the two or three models they produce. With such a small line up, there are no options for younger riders starting out in the sport, therefore no chance of creating any kind of “brand loyalty”. Plus with no major teams being fielded for motocross/supercross, with no guys even breaking the top ten (with the exception of Ken Roczen in supercross) no kids or fans are going to get excited about the brand and want to go out and buy one.
Nothing from the Japanese National series? Isn't that when we normally see new models 1st?
I remember how many people said “speak with your wallet” lol. Meaning, if we all band together and buy “strictly brand new” bikes then we can send a message to the manufacturers and they will continue making 2-strokes (Honda Kawasaki Suzuki) and maybe adjust the pro racing rules. This was in reference to 2-strokes, but it certainly won’t bring Suzuki back.
Have you ridden an RMZ 450? The low to mid isn't the problem it's that it has zero top end. I couldn't climb a fairly steep and long sand dune on mine that my buddy climbed on a 350. He weighs about 50 pounds more than me and has about half the skill level. The RMZ would just run out of power on top plain and simple.
Yeah that's not the bikes issue. They rmz450 is more then enough. Spent a full week at Glamis on one and there was not a single dune or run that if I couldn't do it on the rm I would be able to do on any other bike.
Since suzuki stopped production of the gsx I fear their Mx range will be sharing the same fate. Lets hope that will not be the case
Sounds to me like there was something wrong with that particular bike.
Suzuki is a soulless corporation that shits on customer loyalty and racing history and heritage. Austria backs every form of motorcycle racing, for Suzuki new stickers are a reason to celebrate.
I've heard people say that there is an electric start RMZ that is in some stage of being a prototype . Also that its been around for a couple years already. I've hear it said by a few people on podcasts. Nobody I know personally. But it seems like it is being developed.
I think that as long as Suzuki is supporting Pro MX teams , they will keep making MX bikes. Maybe if you see them pull all support from Bar-X and Progressive/Twisted Tea teams then maybe in a year or 2 You might see them go away.
I was looking at sales data not too long ago, and Suzuki was showing growth in the off road motorcycle sales area for 2023. And it was on an upwards trend for the past couple years. People are buying Suzuki dirtbikes still. I don't know who. Not many that race MX around me. We do 100's of KTM's Husky, Kawasaki's and Yamaha graphic kits each year. With Honda and Gasgas coming in a little less and then Suzuki ,Beta,TM are only a handful or so each year.
Good for you, but they still have no top end and fall flat on their face above 8-9k rpm. Dyno testing confirms this. Its a great bike if you like to short shift and I quite liked mine .
CZ and Montesa spend more money supporting off road motorcycling.
Pit Row
A lot like the Coombs family, preying on the people who remember "back then". Predators.
Yeah...what a piece of shit it is. Winning a supercross this year and podiums.
Pull head out of bunghole.
Suzuki won nothing, Ken Roczen and his team drug that ancient piece of shit across the starting line in first place, God bless them. Joel Robert is dead and corporate Suzuki is using his carcass to sell romantics archaic antiquated bikes. "Only pussies need electric start.", yeah and microwaves and cell phones. Dumb asses, let the man use you......
8600 is peak HP. I’ve had zero issues climbing on my stock 17 and neither has my pops on his stock 20. A few members on here know exactly which hills I’m talking about and I’m pretty sure have climbed them on their RMZ’s with no issues.
I think people read too many reviews or get pro thoughts, or just go off what other people say. I’ve ridden all the 450s, and own a 450 sxf, and there was zero times I ever thought any of those 450s needed more power. Never owned a Suzuki, but know a couple guys who love them. There was a deal a couple years ago where they came with a Yoshi setup and they were discounted, people still bitched. If I were privateer that would have been a no brainer.
I wish Suzuki would go back to their glory days and make a modern day 450 with electric start and suspension that looked like this. If they did that, I'd kick down the the door at the dealership and demand they take my money. Love the simple look of these old Suzooks. Can't be that difficult, because this is a moto art from 43 years ago.
Agree 100%.
Look there’s nothing technically wrong with the bike. Yes, people still love it even though it is a 2018 model, and will probably still be okay over the next few years. The point is, Suzuki Company has been scaling back and has been for the last several years. They haven’t shown any improvements/ advancement over the last 5 years or so. I’m just guessing that they will continue to scale back unless a miracle happens.
I think Suzuki just had a free ride-day for the owners of any Suzuki at a socal mx track. Somebody in that company just spent a decent amount on us pee-ons, pretty cool!
Ya man, sucks so bad they are inviting people around the country to ride for free. They also took out some tiny trucks and dirt cycle riders. Look how sad and soulless we are at these events.
I think odds are high they will quit making dirt scooters before an update. They seem to be focused on marine engines.
Not a Suzuki fan, but Im a big fan of the kick start. If I was buying another bike, the only 4 stroke Id buy would be a Suzuki cause it has a kick start.
What if the ‘24 is BNG but has a really, really, really sweet front fender?
