Ahhh, but he offset the fancy plate with a plastic tablecloth. I'd call that a push. Sneaky, but within the rulesLaughing

Isn't that what you feed dogs in AK?Silly That is a thing of beauty. Your smoke job looked like perfection as well. Color me jealous.
Dogs get dog salmon Tongue Thanks for the compliments. The first batch of smoked salmon turned out well but there are always improvements to be made. Thankfully I have another 12 lbs of salmon for smoking so I'll get plenty of practice Laughing

We have something like 45 lbs of fillets in the freezer right now so we'll be eating lots of it for a while

I can't get the quality you have there but I love throwing a fatty piece of beef next to a salmon fillet on the grill. The cow grease just adds that extra lip smack. I reckon if you're gonna have a lot of something in the freezer...it'd be hard to beat that fish you got there.

It’s a plastic cover over a linen cloth. With four kids I gave up trying to keep it clean. I just throw away the plastic cover each week. Swap out the linen for a different color occasionally. I have OCD so the mess they make on the table and the floor is maddening. lol

Just curious, what do you pay for portions of a cow? And what do you get? That option doesn't really exist up here but I've always been interested

1/4 cow is around $750-$850. The hanging weight is around 150lbs-170lbs. The 1/4 takes up about 4 cubic feet of freezer space.

It includes steak sirloins, filets, strips, and bone-in ribeyes all cut at 1 1/4", round steaks cut at 1/2" and tenderized. The roasts are chuck roast, arm roast, rump roast, & pikes roast. You also get ribs, soup bones, and the remainder is ground.

This thread still staying strong!!

Treated myself to a fancy dinner tonight. Grilled some fresh caught calico bass from a recent catalina island trip. White rice and a grilled vegetable medley. Little lemon and a touch of soy sauce.. washed down with a coldie!!

I love a NY Strip. My favorite cut of steak! I like the rib eye also, but sometimes too fatty for me. I know everyone loves the fat and I do too. But I like the NY Strip because it’s all nice steak to eat!!

Anyone remember Taco Viva? It was a huge chain like Taco Bell that was everywhere until late 80s early 90s and was in every mall food court too. Delicious 25 cent tacos with the grease leaking through the yellow wrappers. I still judge tacos by that cheap tasty standard. Lol Also A&W bulb. Where you order your fast food and they rollerskate it out and hang a tray of food on your car window and specialized in root beer floats. Good times.
