My wife makes a killer meatloaf. Wrapped in bacon. Fresh sliced jalapeno from her garden on top. Drizzled with A-1 sauce and onion gravy. Mashed potatoes and corn on the side. Last nights was the best ever.

Happy Friday!

I was zooming in on the pic on my phone. My goodness it looks so glorious!!! It's literally gourmet meatloaf without the pretentiousness.

I'll share a recipe if I can get one. It's been years of refinement so there is nothing she measures. It's all about "feel".

It was glistening with flavor.

I'm a food snob and I will put that right up against the best things I eat.

There is beauty in simplicity.

She makes another dish we call "beans and cornbread". This is a depression era meal. She uses Lima beans, Cajun smoked ham hocks, ham chunks, seasoning. It's literally one of the best things I've eaten.

Probably costs less then $15 to feed a family of 6. And is absolutely amazing!

Man that looks tasty. As soon as I saw the pics I knew I was gonna make a shepherds pie today...(pretty much the English version of what you have there).

It's proabbly about as unhealthy as it looks.
Healthy's got nuthin to do with it. Very few things in life are as satisfying as good tasting food. Tongue

Is it really that unhealthy? Ground beef and bacon is cooked and the grease drains off. A mashed potato. Corn. The onion gravy is probably the least healthy thing on the plate.

It's certainly not like eating a bowl of kale. But it's not fried fast food either.

I’m not saying it doesn’t taste good but it’s definitely not healthy. Bacon and the beef have a lot of fat and are high in sodium as well as the gravy. But I’d sure like to try it!

Unhealthy? Unhealthy is a pasty white Vegan with sunken in eyes.

Sunday breakfast here. Pancakes cooked with butter to a lightly crisped edge. Applewood bacon lightly crispy and fresh squeezed tangelo juice with all the pulp in it.

Dishwasher safe fine china for the win!

Sunday lunch. Grilled wings with buffalo garlic sauce. Lots of buffalo garlic sauce that I whipped up on the stovetop.

The whole of Europe is going nuts about single use plastic people use outside of their homes. Meanwhile in the US people are using single use plates to save the need to wash up!

Conserving water!

Besides, don't want to add to that fatberg blob in the sewer, something Europe is familiar with.

Angel hair pasta with sauteed pancetta and shredded Parmesan cheese and olive oil seasoned with parsley from the garden and red pepper flakes. Some sweet Italian sausage on the side. And left over hot dog buns transformed into garlic bread.

If that's not real maple syrup - you blew it.
