It saddens me to report that young Aussie MX racer Harley Quinlan has suffered spinal cord damage in a practice crash, practicing for SuperX, at just 19.
Harley, a long time Yamaha Junior Development rider and now riding for the GYTR Rockstar Yamaha Team, is currently sitting 6th in the Pro Lites (250F) class of the SuperX series. Harley also finished 3rd overall in this year Australian U19 MX Championship despite missing the first round.
He finished the year with a dominating win at the final round of the series. Harley was indeed one of Australias up and coming stars of the sport, having grown up in regional Queensland and making it to the bright lights of SuperX.
Reports late this afternoon suggest a very challenging road ahead for this young guy. My thoughts are with the Quinlan family at this time.

Please, everyone, don't turn this thread into a "If he hadn't been wearing a neckbrace" thread. I'm sure it's the last thing Harley and his family needs at the moment.
Burn these comments are not directed at you, just a general comment.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Harley and his family n freinds. Get well soon buddy.

I hope this story has somewhat of a happy ending.
Harley is still in hospital at the moment. He underwent surgery yesterday which, sadly, showed little sign of improvement. It was discoverred that Harley actually severed his spinal cord in the crash and will more than likely spend the rest of his life paralysed from the chest down. Very sad news and very hard to even type.
Harley was known as a very self-motivated and determined rider and we can only hope that he, along with his family and freinds, draws on these strengths in his recovery.
The unfortunate part of all this is that in Australia we have no Rider Down Organisations or anything similar to draw from in times like this. There is very little support offered apart from sponsors helping out where they can which, as we know, is harder than ever for sponsors at the moment.
As soon as any news comes through about a trust fund or any kind of support I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Please keep the well wishes coming through guys. I'm sure Harley could use all the encouragement and positive thoughts he can get
Does anyone have the pull to get in touch with a David Bailey, Jimmy Button, Ernesto Fonseca, Ricky James or any other fallen athlete who may be able to get in touch with Harley for some positive encouragement.
Please PM me if anyone is able to help out and I will forward on the contact details to get in touch with Harleys family.
Thanks.

Really hate hearing/reading these posts, i am coming up on my 26th year anniversary of my accident, was only 15 when it happened. As much as it sucks, life does go on. Just take one day at a time.
Any news on what level his injury is?
Hoping and praying for the best, well wishes and positive thoughts sent his way, and for his entire family.
What ever the outcome,
What ever the struggle,
Know that you have the power to continue on,
We are all pulling for you buddy!
Take care and God bless.
