Between the 6 hours of Navy and Fram commercials was Best Whip. Jarryd McNeil killed it. Some of his whips are mind boggling.

Parsons' whips are really stylish. That save was awesome haha. McNeil's were out of the world.. insane!
IDK what Hansen and twitch were doing there.. To be completely honest, Stenberg's whips were worse than local c class riders.

Look at Stenberg. It gets me going that a guy like that is able to "compete" in that competition and a guy like Cantrell isn't there.

But yeah, just hand the gold medal every year to McNeil. He has been the best guy for years now.

McNeil was head and shoulders above everyone else in that competition. He definitely deserved to win.

Definitely why I'm not a fan of judged competitions. X-Games just doesn't have that appeal that it used to. Not sure if it's age or if they've done something but I just don't have the interest that I used to have in it.

This. It was mind blowing in person. The "turn ups" on the 120 footer at Fitzpatricks are forever engrained in my mind.

But Mcneils whips were filthy yesterday. I'm glad he has gone away from the herky jerky head whips that he used to do a couple years ago. Tom P's whips are so smooth and fluid, it was definitely a well deserved second place.

Twitch has never really done well at freestyle of any kind. See he is racing the trucks now, maybe he can do better in them?

X games is such a joke now. Mcneil has always had the best whips so good to see he won at least. The rest was lame. Watching speed and style and best whip I started thinking why are these same original guys still here year after year? Surely they would all have been replaced by up and coming talent by now? Its just a name and popularity exhibition show now. And that quarter pipe thing. It seemed like dumbed down best trick comp. Who could do the gnarliest trick with next to no airtime. Only two guys could land them. It should have at least been part of a freestyle run.

Brett had surgery on his knee not long ago but he was invited as the first alternate. He rode practice but did not get to compete. Twitch Didn't ride practice because he was truck racing which in my opinion should have dq'ed him for the alternate. But unfortunately that's not how xgames works...

Yeah McNeil has been robbed of the gold multiple times IMO. Twitch has seemed to be off his game the last couple of years at X Games and Monster Cup it seems that he doesn't care to be there and I don't understand why they don't bring in someone like Cantrell or BQ.

X-Games has definitely lost its luster.

I think it helps to watch X-games as a fan of action sports and not a stuck up ass hole who thinks they need to pick apart every event and explain what was wrong with it. It's honestly getting really old to read about on here, fast, just enjoy the damn events and respect the guys who put their health on the line to push their respective sports. There is more to X than just the motor events you know, BMX park was great as was skateboard big air!

I remember when the X-games first started. I was home on Leave in So California and I believe it was the 3rd Xgames in San Diego.

There were so many events, from downhill rollerblade racing, rock climbing, along with what we still have with skate and bmx.

Aside from the Enduro X and flat track this year, X Games does not really seem X again more with the other events gone, as we get the Dew tour showing the exact same events for half the year.

I would like to see a few more events brought back or added.

Its BEST whip not BIGGEST whip..

Mcneil shouldnt have won parsons should have imo, he has the most upside down whip, in pictures insane, but in motion its messy and he just dont have good style.

Parsons throws almost as big but with WAY more smoothness and style

Overall I cant believe such a large organisation as X are so badly organised with regards to long term planning / integrity of events.
X games think they are evolving by chopping / changing events / trying to have lots of rounds / going back to one round etc, all they are really doing is eroding the integrity of the X games.

In fact they are lucky Xgames is regarded as the first olympics of extreme sport because holy hell if the same team ran an event with inferior branding the event would have died a long time ago.
