Would Dungey have passed RV

...if he did not go down? And would he have made the pass stick? What's your opinion?

I think he would have made the pass in another spot than that turn. RV may have been able to get him back again so who knows how it could have ended. Dungey closed the gap several times and hit lappers at the worst time two laps in a row in that S-turn at the bottom of the hill. RV would get the lapper just before the turn and Dungey would get stuck following the lapper through letting RV grab a few bike lengths back.

Maybe, but RV was still in it and could've passed him back. Just like Wilson caught Barcia and Barcia passed him back.

Both Ryans looked strong at the end of the moto... so I think it's a toss up on who would've won. Lappers probably would've been the key factor with only 2 laps left.

Stronger, I give the nod to Dungey. As either Emig or Weege said, Dungey had Villo right where he wanted him.

Well, at least we know it would have been a great race. Bummed for Canard, and not to take away from Canard, but bummed for RV too as the restart did not favor him as much as the his first start did.

Dungey has shown all year that he has RV covered. I know what if, but without that DNF....

I don't think he has RV covered, I think they are about the same spedwise. There have been quite a few motos that RV had pulled away from Dungey on. Dungey does seem to have the momentum at this point, imho. It's like the other poster said, you hate to deal in what-ifs, but take that DNF away and Dungey would have a very comfortable lead in the remaining rounds. Whatever the case may be, I do think Dungey has proved his detractors wrong by showing that he has what it takes to win with all the players in the game. This has been the best SX/motocross season since the 80's in my opinion. Maybe it's even better. We will look back 20 years from now and be telling all the young guys how great 2011 was. This is legendary racing we are all watching. History in the making.

Yes, I think he would have passed him before that if not for the s turn and the lappers that where in the way for three laps in a row.

This as bullshit as "straight up" all the ding-a-lings that answered to this: shame on you.

I'm a villo and Dungey fan.....but "Today"....from what i saw , I think RD had Villo's number in that second moto. RD was on a mission and he was just simply hauling ass! So yeah.....I think RD would have gotten him.

For all the flack MA takes and used to take, does Villo ever win without a holeshot? Unless he gets open track and can sprint, he doesnt win. If Reed and RD start right with him, they got him

I keep seeing Dungey pulling away from him when he gets out front. I keep seeing Dungey catching up to Villo when he gets out front. Maybe I am watching different motos or maybe it has just been lately.

Sounds right to me..I'll be at Unadilla cheering him on.

Going to Steel City too if the points keep staying close.
