US MXoN Team now?

Tomac, Barcia, JMart. Easy decision and that is a stellar team. Now if any of them get hurt prior to, things get more interesting. JMHO

Eli is far from unpatriotic. He had a more than full schedule last year. No other racer in the us raced more races than he did.

Eli is very patriotic. Doesn't he have a gay brother in the Military? I like Eli and all the Tomacs, they seem like good people.

Barcia goes WFO at Des Nations for us.
NO one can ever question Barcia's effort at the MXDN imo. The guys has gave it everything he had every time he went... I'm not the biggest Bam Bam fan but the guy steps it up a notch at that race!!

Not sure why everyone skips over BB4. The dude is fast, and once he get comfy on the new KTM, he will be battling for wins.

110% agree. As long as Justin has a good summer he should be a lock imho. I wouldn't mind if Plessinger managed to unseat JMart personally.

If Eli races and kicks ass I'm sure that everybody will develop amnesia relative to last year Cool

Not sure about his brothers orientation but what was the point in even saying that in that sentence? Eli has a brother who is an Air Force pilot, thats all that needed to be said.

Yes his whole family is very patriotic.

How the hell people keep wanting him is beyond me. He seems like a great guy and everything, fantastic rider, but I don’t want some fair weather trophy hunter on the team.

He bailed out of representing his country because of monster cup. MONSTER CUP smh

Then you have Barcia. Races all the same races as Tomac, and chomps at the bits to go.

Leave Eli home. Send Anderson Webb and Amart again and see if they can get it done this time! Send some guys that want to go.
That makes total sense, leave the guy who is obviously a step ahead of the field at home.......

Let Anderson Webb and A Mart be team Puerto Rico for a 1-2 finish

MXoN is an exhibition race that proves nothing. I'd love to go watch, but it doesn't really settle who is fastest in general.

Tomac would be obvious and then without a doubt Jmart and BamBam would be your best team. They've been there multiple times before and done well, are in great form and always gives 110% at the event.

I'd really like to see Barcia having a go. Dude hangs it all out and you can count on him giving it 110%. He's also been one of the best point scorers in recent years.

I am Canadian so I shouldn't care....but I was just re-watching the 2015 MXoN in France (I'm housebound and have too much time on my hands!), and let's not forget that Barcia won a Moto there. Plus he rode well in 2012 and 2013, he was definitely the best American in Lommel 2012. I think he's the type of guy you want for MXoN, battles hard and has that chip on his shoulder. Same with Cooper Webb if he's healthy.

If Tomac passes on it, Anderson is not healthy and ready, and Baggett needs surgery on his hand (as alluded to by JT$) then this US team quickly becomes sort of a "salvage" job again. I'd take Barcia and JMart in a heartbeat, and depending on Webb's form one could even consider Jeremy on the 450 with Amart on the 250. I don't think I would take Plessinger to MXoN, his poor starts and inconsistency is exactly the recipe a team does not want.

Eli said in a press conference at Hangtown that he would race MXdN this year.
Yeah but even still I wonder if he really goes. If they pass I honesty won’t blame them.

The timing of this races and differences in schedules of GP and AMA championships needs to be better in sync. The last national is 8/25 and the MXDN is October 7th! These guys will have to practice/train for an extra 6 weeks. Whoever chooses to go will not only get no offseason whatsoever, but the MEC is the following week where there is a lot of money a stake. And then you throw in the pressure of the race. The only acceptable position by many around the world for the US to finish is to win. Any other country who finishes on the podium is a job well done and if the US is not standing on the top of the box the headline reads “USA loses”.

You could say that about every race, every single weekend. What a dumb way to view it... Huh

Yeah. Judging reaults over a full season isn’t a more relevant way to determine who the best racer is. My bad.

Has anyone heard if Roczen might ride for Germany this year?

Also wonder if the French would go with Musquin this year since it is in the US and he knows the track well....

Roczen would be good if he stays healthy, the Frenchman so far knows how to run around 2 to 3 seconds off the pace at the tracks. Flame away!
