I did. I thought that was a bit weird. He jumped right in behind 10th place I think? He would've been further back if he got back in where he crashed. That doesn't seem real fair. We'll see if the AMA says anything.
Not false. I'm talking about the guy in front of him, 10th place, which he jumped right in behind cutting down the hill in instead of taking the long way around the track. 2-3 sec shaved off that lap buy avoiding that section.
Would it make you feel better if I told you that's my 1 of my favorite riders? I still agree w/ the OP, he took a short cut IMHO.
I don't think it is right, he completely cut the corner off, cut straight across the infield grass. He should have reentered the track where he crashed.....

He definitely cut out a section, but he gained no positions and re-entered without issue or advantage. This will not be a problem, but you can rest assured the other teams will wank about it.
I saw Cooper Webb taking a real nice smooth line multiple times outside the yellow track markers, making up lots of time on other riders. I thought DC said the yellow track markers are not just a suggestion, if you ride outside of them you are out of bounds. AMA rules are a joke, no enforcement for some, but penalty's for others.
Are you talking about the first time he crashed? He entered at the nearest point that didn't have him going backwards. That's what happens when you have banners all along the track.
Just watched the 2nd moto posted here on vital, from 19:45, if that is not considered cutting the track then I don't know what is. It was not an issue of safety since he left the track to cut across the infield. It was plain EASIER for him to cut. Just my $.02.......
I didn't really notice him hauling ass while he was off the track. Seemed like he was trying to be "safe" while he was off track. Non issue to me although I did find his detour a bit odd.
Yeah I thought is was a bit strange , looked like he could have gotten back on the track where he crashed but thats easy to say just watching on tv. Maybe he couldn't have safely.
The bike was pointing the wrong direction on the track, where he was sitting he could turn 180 degrees left, across the traffic landing the last tabletop, or he could turn 90 degrees right and go down the hill without getting landed on. I would have made the same choice he did. Did he cut the track? Well, yes, but the same thing happens every weekend, and I've seen a lot worse done when someone doesnt even crash, they just go off the track and bypass a rhythm section.

He goes down ON THE TRACK. Gets back up ON THE TRACK. And proceeds to go OFF THE TRACK in order to take a shortcut.
