Pierce wasn’t a lap down in that final race…. He ended up finishing two spots behind Jet.

I did see quite a few guys look back/over then see Jet and move over. Don’t understand why so many of these guys don’t try to fight for position. At least Drake fought for it as long as he could.

I think Brown just made an error.
U will find a lot of these guys are jetts friends, train to gether or ex team mates. He hasnt been around long but he has been teammates with rj, mcadoo, jmart, craig, shimoda, mumfy. And jett always seem to respect everyone and congratulate everyone. When jett wins a race u see the lappers pumped to see him win and fist pumping him.
And Even last year u could tell that if jmart wasnt able to win he wanted jett to win more then jcoop.

I saw that to, there were several riders look over and saw him a check up move over whatever u want to call it ..Forkner just about took him out not knowing someone was next to him .Just think if he did everyone would be saying he did it on purpose

Owens goal is to get the best finish he can. Not to fight Jett. Finishing ahead of Jett was never going to happen. If you're looking at finishing position, letting Jett past easily and only losing 0.5s is better than losing 3s by taking defensive lines and agressive blocking maneuvers. Letting Jett past was smart racing.

Yep. Nobody in the pits except maybe Forkner has anything against Jett as a person. And those guys know what’s up. They see qualifying times, and practice lap times, and Pierce probably decided that it was inevitable Jett was going to pass him so why mess up his charge through the pack? To show what? Jett’s fastest lap was a whole 3+ seconds faster than Pierce’s, he knew the only way he was holding him up was to be dirty and he probably respected him too much to drop to that level. You saw it in the race. Jo held him up for a corner or so, but the second whoops or really any obstacle came up, Jett scrubbed harder, drove through the corner better, or stayed on top of the whoops markedly better than all of them. Jo had an excuse because it was for a podium, but even he didn’t really have much fight to give.

There is probably some bit of truth to the sentiment of the thread in this case. Jace is a vet who is smart, probably wants a bigger ride. He is pretty damn fast but is wise to the politic of sport and will pick his spots, rather than choosing that one position in a race as his battleground.

I suspect it might be the same if any of the factory championship competitors were fighting their way through.

You should watch some of aj's on-board while riding sx at the stadium videos.... a big chunk of the guys out there are still trying not to die.... the tracks are insane for anyone without factory levels of talent... if you listen/watch the couple vids he did mic'ed up you'll have an all new appreciation for most of the guys out there risky their lives for your drunken amusement
