Man, that was a hard hit. I'm personally thinking his gonna be out for a while, but we don't know anything yet. The minimal protective gear Chad wears would of made it worse. Post updates on the crash if you wish and discuss it, I hope his alright.

He was immediately holding his shoulder, so I would venture a guess that its a collarbone, and hopefully not worse than that.

There is pretty much no protective gear that will save you from a massive side impact where you stop fast. Look on the bright side...he did not go in head first, or he could have been paralyzed. I would guess a grade 3 or 4 separated shoulder...probably ribs and lungs...maybe scapula. He will be going to the hospital tonight. It is usually the helmet edge that breaks your collar bone... If he has a collar bone...it is in addition to major shoulder trauma. Bad bad deal..

Internal injuries can be time sensitive right?

I was impressed how quickly Dumgey got on the brakes to avoid Chad. Could of been even uglier. Hoping for the best for Chad.

True, even with a neck brace there's still damage that can be caused by compression. So I too am glad it wasn't the head.

Nerd again: Reedy is in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Hopefully, this is a "days" or "weeks" injury and not a "months" or longer.

Coughing up blood usually means either a rib into a lung, or vey baddly bruised lung.

To me it looked like he was going to go all crazy balls and shoot past Roczen but dropped his front wheel, got bucked high and then made the contact with 94. All Reed there I think. Sucks too. He is my guy.

To me it just looks like one of those crashes that puts you out for a while, but that hit was terrible.

Sux too. 3rd time in a row he found speed again and 3rd time has a bad crash. He's got to be very frustrated.

I took that same digger at Elsinore years back. Full impact mid moto into the face of a jump with the top of my shoulder taking the brunt of the force. I started coughing up blood as soon as I woke up from being knocked out. Ended up smashing my spleen to bits.

An impact like that compresses all your internal organs. Could be anything. Kidney, spleen, lung, ect.

Get well soon Reedy, you've definintely spiced up this season and gave us fans something great to cheer about.

Looked like Kroc got squirrely in the whoops trying to avoid Wey, unfortunately he moved across into Chads line, Chad had no where to go and that was all she wrote. Shift happens, it's racing, I'm gutted for Chad.

He got taken to hospital a few years back coughing up blood after the Yamabog incident and turned up and got 12th in the final.

Hes a tough SOB! Hopefully nothing broken and he will be soon.

We should definitely have a full update by tomorrow. It's the biggest bummer, well it is if his not able to return for a while. I really want to see him atleast holding the red plate this year, hopefully he will if this works out.

Roczen said something more along the line of "I hope Chad didn't catch my wheel" he didn't confirm he did.
